Job Role:
The VP Operations Grocery Retail is responsible for defining and executing the local operations strategy in line with organizational objectives and developed strategies, specifically focusing on grocery retail operations. The role holder is responsible for the results of the business units and leading the district managers in line with the expansion plan of the company.

Role Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Initiate comparative studies within the country that can contribute to the efficiency of the commercial concepts
Oversee the financial aspects in terms of Financial KPIs, Budget and DOA; and participate in the return of investment on current operating projects.
Oversee the proper conservation and utilization, and profitability of the assets in the country, with a specific emphasis on grocery retail.
Elevate skills and capabilities of the operations team to deliver on the fundamentals & future growth plan.
Propose and control the application of investments that reinforce the notion of discount, productivity and profitability.

Strategic Planning:
Ensure the implementation of our commercial strategy and control its execution on a store level
Review market information and propose corrective actions
Oversee the development of MAF Retail’s corporate policies and procedures, and monitor the implementation in the assigned market.
Oversee the application of the product assortment structure and the quality of product presentation
Roll out ,lead and successfully close efficiency programs
Participate in the development of the national concept and oversee its application within the country.
Strengthen our formats and ensure an omni-channel approach is in place, with specific attention to grocery retail operations.
Lead expansion aligned with the strategy

Business Operations
Oversee the establishment of a competitive assortment offer, to secure MAF Retail as a leader in the grocery retail market.
Oversee the sales dynamics and retailtainment (attractive display, ambiance etc.) in the country
Monitor the quality of services offered to clients in the country
Oversee that the stock level contributes to the optimisation of the working capital
Oversee the appropriate application of the business cycle
Follow up new projects during the whole project phase and coordinate synergies between business units
Implement Omni-integration & build future grocery retail specialized Talents.
Oversee the promotional image is maintained in the country
Ensure the application of the stores action plans in line with the overall country strategy.

Human Capital Responsibilities
Oversee the development and implementation of on the job-training
Ensure constant availability of the required competent staff to support the organization in meeting all its responsibilities, plans, and objectives, giving due consideration to grocery retail.
Provide inputs while developing MAF Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedures, with a specific focus on grocery retail.
Ensure the implementation of the performance management process
Ensure proposer execution of organization health index action plan on ground.
Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
Identify training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements

Qualification, Experience & Skills:

Minimum Qualifications/education
Bachelor Degree in a relevant field is required, MBA is a preference

Minimum experience
15-20 years’ experience in a managerial role, with at least 10 years in the grocery retail industry
