Al-Futtaim Automotive (FAMCO) is looking for a skilled Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) Technician to join its team in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Volvo construction equipment at customer sites.
This Field Service Technician role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. You should have strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission systems, along with the ability to diagnose faults, minimise equipment downtime and deliver reliable customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Perform the removal, installation, disassembly and assembly of major construction equipment components, including engines, transmissions and axles.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission system faults using approved service procedures.
Carry out preventive maintenance, inspections and corrective repairs on Volvo construction equipment.
Use technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics and manufacturer documentation to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Inspect machines and identify maintenance requirements, potential faults and additional service opportunities.
Complete repair and maintenance activities according to Volvo manufacturer standards and company procedures.
Maintain accurate service reports, job cards, timesheets and technical records.
Communicate repair progress, technical findings and service recommendations to customers, supervisors and colleagues.
Provide technical support and share knowledge with other service team members when required.
Maintain company tools, service vehicles and equipment in good working condition.
Follow health, safety and environmental procedures during all field service and workshop activities.
Complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in construction equipment or heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
Experience working with Volvo construction equipment is strongly preferred.
Valid UAE driving licence.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics and service documentation.
Good understanding of engines, transmissions, axles and hydraulic systems.
Experience performing equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
Good written and spoken English communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage field service responsibilities and meet operational deadlines.
Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards and continuous improvement.
