As a Technician – Painter, you will be responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, applying primers and automotive paints, and completing refinishing work to achieve a professional-quality finish. You will use specialised paint-shop equipment and follow manufacturer guidelines, workshop procedures, and health and safety standards.
Candidates with 2–3 years of automotive painting experience and technical knowledge of vehicle body refinishing are encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities
As an Automotive Painter at Al-Futtaim Automotive, your key responsibilities will include:
Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by applying body fillers and performing wet and dry sanding.
Apply primers and automotive paint according to manufacturer specifications and recommended procedures.
Perform professional spray-painting activities using suitable paint systems and spray-gun equipment.
Carry out machine compounding, polishing, and refinishing to restore the vehicle’s original appearance.
Ensure high-quality paint finishes with proper durability and corrosion protection.
Inspect completed painting work and correct defects to minimise rework and maintain quality standards.
Operate and maintain paint-shop equipment, including spray guns, paint booths, infrared heaters, dryer chambers, and breathing equipment.
Follow automotive workshop safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe painting workspace.
Stay updated on modern automotive paint technologies, paint-mixing systems, plastic-part painting, and refinishing techniques.
Skills and Qualifications Required
To qualify for the Technician – Painter position at Al-Futtaim Automotive, candidates should demonstrate the following skills:
Strong practical knowledge of automotive painting and vehicle refinishing.
Good experience in surface preparation, sanding, priming, and spray painting.
Ability to perform automotive compounding, polishing, and paint correction.

Experience operating conventional spray guns and professional paint-shop equipment.

Educational Requirements and Work Experience
High school qualification or equivalent.
Technical or vocational training in Automobile Engineering, Automotive Painting, or Vehicle Body Refinishing is preferred.
2–3 years of relevant work experience as an Automotive Painter in a professional paint shop.
Hands-on experience in vehicle surface preparation, paint application, sanding, polishing, and refinishing.
Familiarity with automotive spray guns, paint booths, infrared heaters, and drying chambers.
Knowledge of paint mixing and plastic vehicle-part painting will be an added advantage.
Strong understanding of automotive workshop quality and safety standards.
