Job Overview

Al-Futtaim Automotive is hiring a Technical Advisor to join its Electric Mobility Aftersales team in Dubai, UAE. This role is ideal for experienced automotive professionals with strong diagnostic and technical expertise who are passionate about supporting the growing electric vehicle (EV) industry.

The Technical Advisor will provide advanced technical guidance, assist service advisors and technicians with complex vehicle diagnostics, and help ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently. The role also supports workshop performance, customer satisfaction, and compliance with manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support service advisors by evaluating complex customer concerns and confirming vehicle symptoms before repairs begin.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to identify and verify reported issues.
• Provide technical guidance to diagnostic technicians throughout the repair process.
• Assist in troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic vehicle systems.
• Review warranty repair documentation to ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements.
• Ensure diagnostic equipment and workshop tools are properly maintained, calibrated, and updated.
• Work closely with technical, warranty, training, and workshop teams to improve repair quality and operational efficiency.
• Share technical knowledge with workshop staff through coaching and on-the-job guidance.
• Follow company safety procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and workplace quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workshop productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate technical reports and service documentation.

Required Qualifications

• High school qualification or equivalent in Automotive Technology or a related technical field.
• IMI certification or an equivalent Electric Vehicle (EV) or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) qualification is preferred.
• Valid UAE driving license is required.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive dealership workshop.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Technical Advisor or 3 years of experience as a Diagnostic Master Technician.
• Experience with advanced vehicle diagnostics and technical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with warranty procedures and technical reporting.
• Previous experience working with electric or hybrid vehicles is an advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostic procedures and repair techniques.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex vehicle faults.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
• Good understanding of warranty processes and manufacturer service standards.

• Good communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
