Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and service-oriented Steward to join the General Stewarding team at a luxury hospitality property in Dubai, UAE. The role is responsible for supporting daily stewarding operations and ensuring that kitchen equipment, restaurant equipment, utensils, and work areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
The Steward will work closely with the kitchen and hospitality teams to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized working environment. This position plays an important role in supporting smooth food and beverage operations and delivering a high-quality guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily stewarding duties in accordance with established hotel and hospitality standards.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, tools, and restaurant equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and stewarding tools are properly operated, maintained, and stored.
- Support the daily planning, coordination, and organization of stewarding activities.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene across kitchen and back-of-house areas.
- Follow HACCP guidelines, food safety procedures, and applicable local hygiene regulations.
- Ensure all operational tasks are completed efficiently and according to established procedures.
- Work closely with chefs, kitchen colleagues, restaurant teams, and other departments to support smooth daily operations.
- Proactively identify potential hygiene or operational issues and take appropriate action.
- Help prevent guest complaints by maintaining consistent service and cleanliness standards.
- Provide appropriate support and service recovery when required.
- Communicate professionally and proactively with colleagues while keeping guest satisfaction a priority.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to support the team.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma is required; a College or Hotel Management qualification is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar Steward or Stewarding role, preferably within a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
- Good understanding of HACCP standards, food safety practices, and local hygiene regulations.
- Knowledge of kitchen cleaning procedures, stewarding operations, and hospitality hygiene standards.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and workplace safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine service-oriented personality with a positive and professional attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong commitment to maintaining high standards of guest service and operational cleanliness.
