Job Overview

The Senior Storeman is responsible for supervising warehouse and store activities while supporting the efficient handling, storage, receipt, and issue of materials across Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA). The role involves coordinating Store staff, maintaining accurate inventory records, operating warehouse systems, and ensuring that all activities comply with company procedures, safety standards, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise and coordinate Store staff to ensure daily warehouse activities are completed efficiently.
  • Plan and allocate work to Store team members according to operational requirements.
  • Ensure warehouse procedures and company policies are followed consistently.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout warehouse and storage areas.
  • Ensure mobile equipment, lifting tools, and other warehouse equipment are properly maintained and kept in good working condition.
  • Use SAP and barcode scanning systems to record material movements accurately.

Material Receiving and Issuing

  • Supervise the receipt of incoming materials and verify that goods match the required specifications, descriptions, and quantities.
  • Ensure received materials are processed and stored correctly.
  • Oversee the issue and dispatch of materials, ensuring the correct item and quantity are supplied at the required time.
  • Coordinate site deliveries and optimise material issues to support smooth operations.

Inventory and Material Management

  • Ensure all incoming materials are properly barcode-labelled and placed in their designated storage locations.
  • Maintain accurate bin locations and ensure appropriate bin labelling.
  • Conduct physical stock checks and cycle counts according to warehouse procedures.
  • Monitor the condition of stored materials and ensure stock is properly maintained.
  • Record material receipts and movements accurately in the SAP system using barcode scanners or handheld terminals.
  • Prepare Gate Passes and relevant documentation for the dispatch of goods and equipment to local and international destinations.
  • Help maintain accurate warehouse inventory records and support efficient stock management.

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Follow all applicable EHS policies, procedures, and controls during warehouse operations.
  • Promote safe working practices among Store and Warehouse staff.
  • Ensure warehouse activities are performed in a safe, organised, and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Report unsafe conditions and follow company requirements for workplace safety and equipment handling.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Storeman, Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar warehouse position.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale warehouse operations is beneficial.

Required Skills

  • Good understanding of warehouse and material-handling procedures.
  • Practical knowledge of SAP warehouse or inventory management systems.
  • Experience using barcode systems, handheld terminals (HHTs), and barcode scanners.
  • Good computer skills, including MS Windows and other warehouse-related software.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, material receipt, storage, issuing, and dispatch procedures.
  • Ability to supervise Store staff and organise daily warehouse activities.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory records and material transactions.
  • Understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
