Job Purpose
The Senior Software Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering integrated industrial automation, software, and digital solutions that connect Operational Technology (OT) with Information Technology (IT).
The role focuses on creating scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performance digital architectures that meet customer requirements and improve operational efficiency, asset performance, and business outcomes across utilities, energy, water, infrastructure, and industrial sectors in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Digital Design
- Analyze customer business requirements, technical requirements, and operational needs.
- Design end-to-end OT and IT architectures for automation and digital transformation projects.
- Develop solution blueprints, system architectures, functional specifications, and technical documentation.
- Define appropriate cybersecurity, networking, cloud, and on-premises deployment architectures.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with project and customer requirements.
Software & Application Engineering
- Configure, customize, integrate, and deploy industrial and enterprise software applications.
- Develop business use cases, workflows, dashboards, reports, and digital processes.
- Support software testing, system validation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance improvement.
- Ensure applications meet technical specifications and operational requirements.
Enterprise Software Integration
- Design and support integration between industrial and enterprise platforms, including:
- SCADA
- DMS / ADMS
- EMS
- APM
- EAM
- GIS
- IoT platforms
- ERP
- CMMS
- Cloud platforms
- Data analytics systems
- Develop integrated solutions that enable effective data exchange between operational and enterprise systems.
Digital Transformation & Advanced Analytics
- Design digital transformation solutions for industrial and infrastructure environments.
- Support predictive maintenance, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), advanced analytics, and digital twin applications.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve asset performance through digital technologies.
- Support the adoption of new technologies and innovative software solutions.
Customer Engagement & Technical Support
- Conduct customer workshops, technical demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and technical presentations.
- Understand customer challenges and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical input for proposals, tenders, and bid responses.
- Support solution discussions with customers, engineering teams, and project stakeholders.
Project Delivery & Commissioning
- Support project implementation from solution design through deployment and customer acceptance.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Support software deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system validation.
- Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to customers and project teams.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within quality requirements, and according to agreed specifications.
Leadership & Team Management
- Support the development and performance of technical teams.
- Identify high-performing employees and support their professional development and succession planning.
- Address performance gaps through appropriate coaching, development, and performance management.
- Promote fair, consistent, and performance-based team management.
- Ensure appropriate delegation of responsibilities in accordance with company policies.
Business Planning & Performance
- Translate organizational objectives into actionable business and development plans.
- Plan, execute, monitor, and follow up on annual and project-related objectives.
- Monitor performance indicators and implement corrective actions when required.
- Prepare periodic progress and performance reports.
- Monitor project budgets and expenses to support cost-effective delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and business performance.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Develop and maintain effective technical systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for software automation and digital process improvement.
- Promote the effective use of IT and digital solutions across relevant business functions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of emerging technologies.
Quality, Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of quality across software architecture, engineering, integration, and project delivery.
- Ensure digital solutions comply with applicable technical, cybersecurity, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Support secure architecture practices for cloud, on-premises, networking, and industrial environments.
- Promote quality-focused engineering and continuous improvement.

Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
Work Experience
- 6 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in software solutions architecture, industrial automation, systems engineering, digital transformation, enterprise software integration, or related fields.
- Experience working with OT/IT integration and industrial or enterprise software platforms is preferred.
