The Senior Craftsman – Painting is responsible for carrying out maintenance painting activities, including surface preparation and painting of plant equipment and materials. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of quality, safety, housekeeping, and equipment care while completing assigned maintenance work efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Painting

• Complete assigned maintenance painting activities according to required quality standards.
• Independently carry out minor painting tasks and planned maintenance painting work.
• Perform maintenance activities on painting-related equipment in accordance with operating procedures.
• Prepare surfaces and apply paint to plant equipment and materials as required.
• Operate blasting and painting equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow technical specifications and instructions for different types of industrial paint.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow company safety rules, procedures, and safe working practices.
• Ensure personal safety and help protect plant, equipment, and other personnel during maintenance activities.
• Use painting and blasting equipment responsibly and according to established procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment.

Equipment & Housekeeping

• Keep painting equipment, tools, and work areas clean, organised, and safe.
• Inspect and maintain tools and equipment used for painting activities.
• Report equipment or work-related issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain good housekeeping within the assigned work area.

Teamwork & Training

• Work effectively with maintenance and workshop teams.
• Provide suggestions and practical ideas to improve shop services for internal customers.
• Coach and guide National Trainees and TPRF personnel while they perform routine painting and maintenance activities.
• Support team members in following correct work methods and safety practices.

Required Qualifications

• High school graduate or vocational qualification in Industrial Painting or a related field.
• Relevant maintenance painting experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of industrial painting equipment and processes.
• Understanding of different types of industrial painting work and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications for different paints.
