Majid Al Futtaim has embarked on a very ambitious analytics transformation, leveraging state of art data and technology to instill a data driven culture throughout its businesses. More than technology, the most important component of a transformation lies in its change management processes and in enabling leaders to leverage data driven insights for better, faster decision making.
Based in Dubai and reporting into Director of BI&I within the central holding company, the person will be expected to work closely across various business units & business verticals in MAF to (a) identify and generate customized insights via leveraging data tools/dashboards, with the objective to recommend specific actions businesses can take to bridge opportunity gaps & (b) lead project adoption end to end, from conceptualization/ideation phase to action. Beyond being hands on with data, analysis and insight generation, the Manager of BI&I will also closely work and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across MAF businesses to aid databased decision making.
Manager of business intelligence & insights is a key position within holding/XSIGHT, accountable to deliver thought leadership, strategic thinking based on analytics, to provide direction to the businesses for them to maximize their potential.
We are looking for a BI & insight Analyst with strong technical and managerial skills to help us build and efficiently scale our analytics capabilities. You will join a team that provides data, frameworks, and insights to the company at large. You will work alongside business leaders, analysts, data scientists and data engineers on challenging business problem statements to deliver databased recommendations leveraging powerful analytics and partner with stakeholders on operational KPIs to drive growth.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Proactively lead engagements across the group to drive analytics agenda.
Put in place initiatives that disseminates regular drumbeat of insights to the businesses/verticals.
Take responsibility to ensure insights delivered are received and actioned upon by the stakeholders and owning accountability on incrementality resulting from it.
Develop in-depth understanding of external business environment including market trends, competition, regional and global benchmarks relevant for MAF group.
Identify and scoping BI, reporting and data analysis needs through close collaboration with function leads across the different business units. Capture and interpret detailed user requirements on business cases/studies and define optimum BI solution to meet user needs
Develop in-depth understanding of MAF businesses and proactively engage with the team/key stakeholders on opportunities identified through delivering breakthrough insight analytics.
Data management & Operations
Demonstrate leadership by developing and embedding insight led analytics vs data reporting.
Collect/extract required data from multiple sources including but not limited to internal data warehouse, market data, etc.
Define data quality standards and devise data validation rules on collected data sets to ensure that the data used and presented is accurate.
Develop automated and reusable routines for extracting requested information
Pull and model data from our data lake and data warehouse to create quantitative models of business trends.
Contribute to Group/XSIGHT vision of delivering high data accuracy. Proactively partner with data engineering and BUs to ensure data is accurately and effectively utilized across the group.
Data analysis and insights generation
Deliver and own at least 1-2 new data capabilities; in line with group strategic needs/priority
Work with Sales, Operations, Business Intelligence, Marketing and other stakeholders to establish the right metrics/KPI’s for monitoring their businesses
Execute quantitative analyses that translate data into actionable insights; provide analytical and data-driven decision-making support for key projects.
Generate and go deep on consumer insights and competitive intelligence to help teams drive product innovation and iteration
Communicate insights in compelling ways, creating data story telling
Proactively communicate with business unit/XSIGHT vertical stakeholders to (a) drive insights to action & (b) maintain delivery of constant stream of insights; own strategic consultation to the business.
Constant focus on enabling MAF to win externally by bringing the “outside in”; Deliver insights leveraging external data complimenting it with internal data lake.
Orgainzation
Own individual capabilities and lead upskilling trainings/workshops within BI&I to ensure the team
Operate independently via owning relationships across the group
Dashboards and data visualization
Develop powerful BI dashboards to address business problems including using effective visualizations, creating a story flow and clearly communicating insights and recommending solutions

Be recognized as the business partner and thought leader for our business unit leaders for all insights and analytical needs
Work with agility and passion to deliver thought leadership internally and externally for the growth of MAF group
Functional/Technical Competencies
Develop an expert knowledge of all the MAF data landscape and a strong ability to retrieve and manipulate data efficiently
Establish strong working relationships with the Data engineering and data science team within our unit and the wider BI community across the group
Create, deliver and communicate impactful analysis to stakeholders at different level of seniority
The successful candidate should will have an exceptional track record of working within businesses/functions to tackle complex problems, across multiple industries and have strong analytics and data capabilities. Below highlights some of the must have skills & competencies for the role:
Strong market knowledge and solid research capabilities including scanning and capturing market information, insights, etc.
Demonstrated use of both internal and external research & analytics. metrics, and benchmarking to drive decisions
Hands on experience with A/B testing, statistical analysis, and insight visualization tools.
Highly analytical, with a track record of being a strong problem solver; capable of translating data into meaningful analysis and insights, presenting to business stakeholders, and driving value for the business. Story telling mindset to drive insights is critical.
Proven track record of project management and organizational skills, with an ability to initiate, prioritize, and execute analysis/insights projects with minimal guidance across businesses and leadership levels.
Confident, highly engaging team player with a history of managing/training a team.
5 – 7 years of experience on data analytics, stakeholder management & problem solving.
Demonstrated proven track record of data-rich analysis and driving breakthrough insights to the business (at all levels) as a consequence, creating and building complex evaluation tools for assessing/tracking business performance.
Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableu, Python, involving datasets and multiple data sources. Vertica experience preferred.

Minimum experience
5-7 years of experience in Business Analysis, Analytics, in FMCG, research/analytics agency or management consultancy with strong experience in deriving insights from data and driving change in large organizations at all management levels.
Minimum Qualifications/education
Bachelor’s degree in in a quantitative field (business, math, economics, finance, statistics, science, engineering)
