Job Overview
The Senior Accountant will support and manage important financial controlling activities while working closely with business units, shared service teams, group entities, IT departments, auditors, and external service providers.
A major part of the role involves ensuring that financial transactions are correctly recorded, reconciled, documented, and reported. The successful candidate should be comfortable handling complex account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies across different financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting and financial control activities, including:
- Review cash collection summaries for stores, restaurants, and central business units.
- Coordinate with cash office teams to ensure collection information is accurate and complete.
- Investigate reconciliation or system discrepancies with support from the relevant IT teams.
- Complete month-end collection reconciliations in Navision and coordinate necessary accounting entries with R2R and O2C teams.
- Monitor sales reconciliation between stores and central units and investigate outstanding differences.
- Perform regular reconciliation of e-commerce debtors, receipts, sales, taxes, deferred sales, and deferred tax accounts.
- Review Cash on Delivery transactions and reconcile related debtor, sales, and tax accounts.
- Coordinate with third-party service providers regarding cash collections, sales, and delivery information.
- Reconcile transactions processed through digital payment channels such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Tabby, Tamara, Safex, and EPG.
- Work with central units, call centres, IT teams, and external partners to complete daily and monthly financial reconciliations.
- Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for VAT reconciliations between SAP and Navision.
- Assist internal tax teams with information required for VAT reviews and audits.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Perform purchase and inventory reconciliations between SAP and Navision.
- Coordinate with shared-service Accounts Payable teams to review vendor-related control accounts.
- Review credit facility documentation and assist with Accounts Receivable activities.
- Coordinate with B2B, insurance, and O2C teams on receivable-related matters.
- Prepare monthly accounts receivable aging reports and assist with AR provisions.
- Ensure financial activities comply with internal accounting policies and VAT requirements.
- Review balance-sheet accounts and support accurate General Ledger substantiation.
- Assist with the implementation of recommendations resulting from internal and external audits.
- Maintain effective financial controls and follow established company accounting procedures.
Skills Required
Candidates should have a good combination of accounting knowledge, analytical ability, and communication skills.
Key skills include:
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Practical experience working with SAP.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Navision.
- Understanding of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
- Knowledge of VAT reconciliation and financial compliance.

Education and Experience
Applicants should ideally meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in a recognized organization.
- Previous experience in an Accounts Executive, Accountant, or similar finance position.
- Hands-on experience with SAP and Navision accounting systems.
- Previous exposure to taxation, VAT filing, financial controls, or audit activities would be an advantage.
