The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, prepare technical and commercial proposals, support contract negotiations, and coordinate awarded projects from initial planning through installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.

The role requires strong knowledge of fire protection systems, project operations, tendering, client management, and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for fire fighting systems, fire protection solutions, and related project services.
  • Identify potential opportunities with consultants, contractors, developers, facility owners, government entities, and other customers.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and project partners.
  • Manage sales opportunities and support efforts to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Present suitable technical solutions, commercial proposals, and value-engineering options to customers.
  • Participate in negotiations and support the process from initial enquiry through contract award.

Tendering & Commercial Activities

  • Review project enquiries, tender documents, specifications, drawings, equipment schedules, quantities, and scopes of work.
  • Prepare and coordinate technical and commercial proposals, quotations, estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
  • Work closely with estimation, engineering, design, procurement, and project teams during bid preparation.
  • Review commercial requirements and help identify potential project risks before contract award.
  • Monitor variations, claims, purchase orders, subcontractor performance, payments, and project profitability.

Fire Fighting Project Management

  • Coordinate awarded projects from mobilisation through completion and handover.
  • Plan and monitor procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, inspections, and project close-out activities.
  • Coordinate work involving fire pumps, sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, wet and dry risers, tanks, standpipes, suppression systems, and associated equipment.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, procurement requirements, and overall operational performance.
  • Work with different construction and engineering disciplines to minimize clashes and project delays.
  • Attend client, coordination, progress, tender, inspection, and site meetings when required.

Technical Coordination

  • Review relevant shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, material submittals, method statements, test plans, and other technical documentation.
  • Help ensure installations follow approved drawings, project specifications, manufacturer requirements, applicable fire codes, and required standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering and site teams to resolve technical and installation issues.
  • Support testing, commissioning, demonstrations, authority requirements, approvals, and final handover activities.

Project Controls & Documentation

  • Identify operational and commercial risks and take appropriate action to minimize potential delays or additional costs.
  • Follow up on snags, defects, non-conformances, technical queries, and outstanding commercial matters.
  • Maintain appropriate project records, including contracts, orders, inspection documents, certificates, approvals, as-built drawings, manuals, warranties, and handover documentation.
  • Prepare sales, operational, revenue, progress, forecast, and management reports.
  • Support company requirements related to quality, health and safety, environmental practices, and document control.

Team Leadership

  • Coordinate sales, estimation, engineering, procurement, and project delivery personnel.
  • Establish clear priorities and support teams in meeting project and customer requirements.
  • Contribute to improvements in sales performance, operational efficiency, project delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree, higher diploma, or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Experience & Skills

Relevant experience in fire fighting, fire protection, MEP, building services, project sales, business development, or operations management is expected.

Candidates should ideally have:

  • Practical understanding of fire fighting and fire protection project sales and operations.
  • Knowledge of sprinklers, fire pumps, hydrants, hose reels, risers, tanks, suppression systems, and associated equipment.
  • Experience with tendering, estimation, contracts, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Understanding of relevant fire codes, project standards, authority requirements, manufacturer specifications, and health and safety practices.
  • Ability to understand drawings, specifications, hydraulic calculations, quantities, contracts, and project schedules.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines, customer relationships, negotiations, and commercial targets.
  • Ability to coordinate consultants, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM, ERP, estimating, or project-management systems.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to manage several priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
