Job Overview
A leading organization is seeking an experienced Production Engineer in Dubai, UAE to support manufacturing operations, improve production processes, and ensure efficient delivery of high-quality products. The role focuses on production planning, process optimization, engineering support, cost reduction, quality improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years of relevant experience in production engineering, manufacturing, production planning, or industrial operations, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning and Coordination
- Plan and coordinate daily production activities to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure products are manufactured according to required quality and delivery standards.
- Track and control Work in Progress (WIP) throughout the production process.
- Monitor sub-store inventory and coordinate material availability to support uninterrupted production.
- Identify potential production delays and take appropriate corrective actions.
Production Process Improvement
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Optimize the use of production equipment, materials, manpower, and other resources.
- Implement process improvement initiatives to increase production capacity and reduce operational costs.
- Develop and promote standardized production methods and best practices.
Engineering and Maintenance Support
- Provide engineering support to production and maintenance teams to maintain reliable plant operations.
- Assist in identifying equipment and process-related issues affecting production.
- Work with relevant teams to investigate technical problems and implement effective solutions.
- Support equipment optimization and improvements to minimize production downtime.
Production Evaluation and Problem Solving
- Evaluate production performance and identify areas requiring improvement.
- Investigate production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Recommend practical corrective and preventive actions to improve productivity and reliability.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
Cost Reduction and Quality Improvement
- Support initiatives designed to reduce manufacturing and operational costs without compromising product quality.
- Identify opportunities to minimize material waste, equipment downtime, and inefficient processes.
- Develop clear operating instructions and equipment specifications where required.
- Ensure production processes meet defined quality standards and specifications.
Training and Team Development
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to production team members.
- Help employees understand production procedures, operating standards, and safety requirements.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning, productivity, quality, and operational excellence.
Continuous Improvement and 5S
- Develop and implement best practices to improve production capacity, quality, efficiency, and reliability.
- Participate in 5S activities and workplace organization initiatives.
- Coordinate with the safety team to maintain an organized, safe, and efficient production environment.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Technical Knowledge and Continuous Learning
- Stay updated on product specifications, manufacturing technologies, engineering practices, and modern production processes.
- Apply relevant engineering knowledge to improve manufacturing performance.
- Keep up with new technologies and industry best practices related to production engineering.
General Responsibilities
Operational Delivery
- Complete planned production and development activities according to established schedules and targets.
- Use manpower, equipment, materials, and other resources efficiently.
- Prepare periodic reports covering production performance, planned activities, execution progress, and deviations.
Problem Solving
- Identify and resolve production-related issues promptly.
- Escalate complex operational and technical problems to the appropriate management teams.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Quality Management
- Ensure production activities comply with defined quality requirements and specifications.
- Support the implementation of effective quality control procedures.
- Monitor production processes to identify opportunities for improving product quality and consistency.
Business Process Improvement
- Follow documented production systems, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Compliance, Health and Safety
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and operational work instructions.
- Follow applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Work with relevant teams to maintain a safe and compliant production environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 4–6 years of relevant work experience in production engineering, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
- Practical knowledge of production planning and scheduling.
- Experience with manufacturing process improvement and production coordination is preferred.
