Job Overview
A company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking a skilled and experienced Press Machine Operator to support its manufacturing and production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring industrial press machines to manufacture components according to production schedules, technical specifications, and quality standards.
This role is suitable for candidates with hands-on experience operating industrial presses, metalworking machinery, press brakes, or die-cutting equipment. The ideal applicant should have good technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Press Machine Setup and Operation
- Set up, operate, and monitor industrial press machines according to production requirements.
- Load and position raw materials, including metal sheets, coils, and other materials, as required for the job.
- Install and adjust dies, molds, and other machine tooling according to approved specifications.
- Configure machine settings, including pressure, stroke rate, and operating parameters.
- Ensure machines operate efficiently and meet daily production targets.
- Follow production instructions, work orders, and technical specifications throughout the manufacturing process.
2. Quality Control and Inspection
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet the required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Check products for defects such as cracks, burrs, incorrect dimensions, and misalignment.
- Use measuring instruments, including calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools, to verify product accuracy.
- Identify defective products and report quality issues to the production supervisor.
- Maintain consistent product quality and minimize material waste during production.
3. Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Conduct routine machine inspections before and during production operations.
- Clean equipment, remove scrap materials when safe to do so, and lubricate machine components according to maintenance procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify signs of mechanical wear or malfunction.
- Report machine breakdowns and technical problems to the maintenance team or supervisor.
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities to maintain equipment reliability and reduce production downtime.
4. Workplace Safety and Compliance
- Follow applicable UAE workplace health and safety requirements and company safety procedures.
- Operate machinery only with the required guards, safety devices, and protective equipment in place.
- Follow approved operating procedures for machine setup, material handling, and production activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation to prevent workplace hazards.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and potential risks to the supervisor.
- Follow approved lockout/tagout procedures when required for maintenance or machine servicing.
5. Production Coordination and Reporting
- Coordinate with production supervisors, maintenance personnel, and quality control teams.
- Follow daily production schedules and work instructions to achieve output targets.
- Record production quantities, machine downtime, material usage, and quality issues accurately.
- Ensure raw materials and finished components are handled and stored appropriately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Approximately 2–5 years of hands-on experience operating industrial press machines or similar manufacturing equipment is preferred.
- Experience in metal pressing, press brake operation, die-cutting, or industrial manufacturing is an advantage.
- High school diploma, vocational qualification, or ITI certification in mechanical engineering, fabrication, metalworking, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings, blueprints, and production work orders.
- Knowledge of machine settings, tooling, material handling, and production quality requirements.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges.
- Understanding of industrial machinery safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
