Key Responsibilities
Production Planning
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and manufacturing capacity.
- Coordinate production activities to ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Monitor production progress and resolve scheduling issues to minimize delays.
- Balance workloads across production lines for maximum efficiency.
Material Planning
- Plan material requirements using ERP/MRP systems.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor inventory levels and help maintain optimal stock levels.
- Support inventory planning to reduce shortages and excess stock.
Capacity Planning
- Analyze production capacity, machine availability, and workforce requirements.
- Identify production bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize production downtime.
Demand & Forecast Planning
- Assist in preparing production forecasts using sales data and historical trends.
- Update production plans based on changing customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate production schedules and communicate updates across departments.
Process Improvement
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor production KPIs and recommend process improvements.
- Help reduce lead times, improve productivity, and optimize inventory management.
Reporting & ERP Management
- Maintain accurate production planning data in ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Prepare reports on production schedules, inventory, capacity utilization, and planning performance.
- Ensure planning data remains accurate and up to date.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics teams.
- Support new product introductions and production transitions.
- Coordinate production activities to meet customer delivery requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in Production Planning, Supply Chain Management, or Lean Manufacturing are an advantage.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, material planning, or manufacturing planning.
- Experience within the automotive or manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Hands-on experience using SAP, Oracle, or other ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
