Role Overview
The Assistant Merchandiser plays a key role in supporting the Senior Merchandiser and Merchandiser within the Business Unit (BU). This position involves producing and analyzing reports, offering actionable insights, assisting in planning and product selection, and ensuring the accuracy and upkeep of trackers, data files, and allocation processes.

  • Key Responsibilities
    Catalogue Buying
  • Assist in the catalogue buying process, maintaining Core Buying sheets.
  • Input buying quantities into systems and prepare planograms using DRB.
  • Analyze performance against targets using reports and support IBO range development.
  • Stay informed about market trends to contribute to the business strategy.
  • Allocation Management
  • Oversee accurate BTF settings and guide allocators on processes.
  • Implement AI-driven allocation solutions and coordinate with stores to meet regional needs.
  • Business Reporting & Analysis
  • Create precise reports and monitor promotional activities.
  • Analyze weekly trade data to identify trends and recommend actions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and provide insights to inform future buying strategies.
    Communication
  • Act as the main point of contact for store stock concerns.
  • Support weekly trade updates and contribute to digital transformation efforts.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure product data is accurate and up-to-date.
    Leadership
  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering their professional development.
  • Champion the values of M&S and lead by example.

    Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience: 3-5 years in Fashion Buying and Merchandising, with experience at Assistant
  • Merchandiser or Allocator level.
  • Education: Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
  • Industry Expertise: Experience in a retail buying environment within MENA or Europe, particularly with UK/European brands.
