Al-Futtaim Automotive FAMCO is seeking an experienced Material Handling Equipment Technician to support the servicing, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of Toyota Material Handling Equipment in Dubai, UAE.
The role involves troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out repairs and component overhauls, and ensuring material handling equipment is returned to reliable operating condition. The technician will work in both workshop and field-service environments and is expected to complete repairs accurately while minimizing repeat customer complaints.
The successful candidate should have strong technical knowledge of material handling equipment, forklifts, electric trucks, BT equipment, and VNA systems, along with the ability to interpret technical manuals and follow manufacturer-recommended service procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in Toyota Material Handling Equipment.
- Troubleshoot issues affecting electric, BT, VNA, and other material handling equipment.
- Perform servicing, maintenance, repairs, and component overhauls according to manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect equipment to identify technical problems and determine the appropriate repair procedure.
- Use workshop manuals, technical documentation, and service checklists when carrying out maintenance and repairs.
- Complete repair work efficiently while maintaining high standards of technical quality.
- Ensure equipment is returned to safe and reliable operating condition.
Fault Diagnosis and Troubleshooting
- Carry out systematic fault diagnosis to identify the root cause of equipment problems.
- Recommend suitable technical solutions based on inspection and diagnostic findings.
- Aim to resolve customer complaints correctly on the first repair attempt.
- Identify potential mechanical or electrical issues before they develop into major equipment failures.
- Apply manufacturer-approved service methods and workshop best practices.
- Maintain high repair quality to reduce repeat complaints and unnecessary downtime.
Workshop and Field Service
- Perform maintenance and repair activities at the workshop and customer locations when required.
- Follow service procedures and safety requirements during all field and workshop assignments.
- Inspect equipment and components before and after repair work.
- Use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to complete technical tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and communicate repair findings to supervisors.
Communication and Reporting
- Explain completed repair and maintenance work clearly to the Foreman or Service Supervisor.
- Communicate identified technical problems and recommended solutions promptly.
- Provide accurate information regarding equipment condition, repair requirements, and additional work identified during service visits.
- Work closely with supervisors and other service team members to achieve productivity and customer-service targets.
- Maintain professional communication with customers during field-service assignments.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in material handling equipment maintenance and repair.
- Experience with Toyota or BT material handling equipment is preferred.
- Valid UAE manual driving license is mandatory.
