The technician will work across workshop and field environments, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and provide emergency support when required.

Key Responsibilities

Service & Maintenance

• Perform inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components.
• Carry out routine checks and preventive maintenance to ensure reliable generator operation.
• Identify potential faults and recommend additional repairs or maintenance requirements.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while following established service procedures.
• Provide field and workshop support to minimize equipment downtime.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to marine power generators.
• Use service manuals, wiring diagrams, checklists, and technical documentation to complete repairs accurately.
• Apply approved tools, procedures, and best practices to minimize rework.
• Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time and reduce repeat service complaints.
• Support emergency and 24/7 service requirements when required.

Customer & Team Support

• Maintain professional communication with customers and internal service teams.
• Coordinate with the Foreman, Service Advisor, and Service Manager regarding required repairs and service activities.
• Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with other team members.
• Maintain professional behavior and customer-focused service standards at all times.

Productivity & Reporting

• Monitor productivity, efficiency, rework, and service-related KPIs.
• Complete accurate service reports and maintain proper records of work performed.
• Follow standard operating procedures, technical specifications, and safety requirements.
• Ensure all assigned work is completed according to approved quality standards.

Continuous Technical Development

• Keep technical knowledge up to date with new products, technologies, and generator systems.
• Develop broader skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve service reliability and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for power generators.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good technical and communication skills.
• Ability to understand and use service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to maintain accurate technical reports and service records.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical education or apprenticeship in a relevant technical field.
• Diploma in Technician, Generator, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience with power generators.
• Proven experience in independent servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Valid driving license.
• Good English communication skills.
• Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Experience working in field service or workshop environments is preferred.
