A leading automotive manufacturing organization in Dubai, UAE, is looking for an experienced Manager – Chassis Assembly to lead and oversee chassis assembly operations within its manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will manage assembly teams, monitor production performance, improve manufacturing processes, coordinate material availability, and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the chassis assembly operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage daily chassis assembly operations to achieve production schedules and manufacturing targets.
- Ensure assembly activities comply with approved engineering specifications, quality requirements, safety procedures, and production standards.
- Monitor production performance and key manufacturing KPIs, including cycle time, productivity, defect rates, downtime, and equipment efficiency.
- Identify production bottlenecks, process gaps, and operational issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Improve chassis assembly processes through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing manufacturing costs.
- Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, warehouse, and production planning teams to ensure the timely availability of chassis components and materials.
- Lead, supervise, and develop assembly line employees, supervisors, and team leaders.
- Provide training and guidance to production teams on assembly procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational best practices.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of assembly equipment and production tools.
- Work closely with quality, engineering, maintenance, and other manufacturing departments to resolve production and technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, automotive manufacturing standards, occupational safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Support implementation of new manufacturing processes, equipment, technologies, and engineering changes.
- Prepare regular production performance reports, KPI dashboards, and operational updates for senior management.
- Participate in production reviews and recommend measures to improve quality, productivity, delivery performance, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of automotive chassis systems and assembly processes.
- Practical experience in automotive manufacturing and production operations.
- Strong leadership, team management, and workforce coordination skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of production planning, quality control, process optimization, and manufacturing KPIs.
- Familiarity with ERP, MES, production monitoring, and manufacturing management systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, quality, maintenance, procurement, supply chain, and production teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–10+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or vehicle assembly operations.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing production teams and assembly-line operations is preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification will be an advantage.
- Experience with chassis manufacturing or automotive assembly projects is highly desirable.
