A leading organization is hiring an Instrumentation Technician – Maintenance for its Qatar talent pool, based in the UAE. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning field instrumentation used in power generation and desalination plants. This role is ideal for technicians with experience in industrial maintenance, calibration, and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain field instrumentation systems used in power generation and desalination facilities.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on gas turbines, steam turbines, waste heat boilers, desalination plants, and related equipment.
- Diagnose equipment faults and restore systems to normal operating conditions.
- Carry out maintenance work according to approved schedules and operational requirements.
- Select appropriate tools, equipment, and testing instruments required for maintenance activities.
- Use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to record completed work and request spare parts when necessary.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures during maintenance activities.
- Report recurring equipment failures and support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to improve equipment reliability.
- Assist in commissioning and recommissioning instrumentation after maintenance or repair.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and technical support to junior technicians and new team members.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with company standards.
Required Qualifications
- Higher Secondary Certificate or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Additional technical certifications in instrumentation or industrial maintenance will be an advantage.
Experience Required
Candidates should have previous experience working in power generation plants, desalination plants, or similar industrial facilities.
Experience with the following systems is preferred:
- Pressure measurement instruments
- Temperature measurement devices
- Level transmitters and gauges
- Flow measurement systems
- Instrument calibration equipment
- Pneumatic control systems
- Hydraulic valve actuation systems
- CO₂ fire protection systems
- Infrared gas detection systems
- Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures
- Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Good understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of industrial plant safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure during equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
- Ability to work in demanding industrial environments, including high-temperature areas and elevated work platforms.
- Interest in learning new technologies and modern industrial control systems.
