We are hiring an experienced Instrumentation Technician – Energy to join our operations team in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing field instrumentation used in power generation and desalination facilities. This role supports the reliable operation of gas turbines, steam turbines, waste heat boilers, and associated plant equipment while ensuring maximum equipment availability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.

Instrumentation Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on field instrumentation and control systems.
- Inspect, calibrate, repair, and recommission instrumentation used in gas turbines, steam turbines, waste heat boilers, desalination plants, and supporting utility systems.
- Diagnose instrumentation faults quickly to minimize plant downtime and restore equipment to normal operating conditions.
- Install, configure, test, and commission instrumentation devices according to engineering specifications and maintenance procedures.
- Select appropriate tools, test equipment, and spare parts required for maintenance activities.
Equipment Reliability
- Monitor instrumentation performance and identify recurring equipment issues.
- Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend long-term corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration reports, and inspection documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams during planned shutdowns and equipment overhauls.
Safety & Compliance
- Perform all maintenance work in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and company procedures.
- Follow permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and plant safety regulations.
- Work safely in high-temperature industrial environments, elevated work areas, and during emergency maintenance situations.
- Ensure instrumentation systems meet operational and regulatory safety requirements.
Technical Support & Teamwork
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior technicians and maintenance personnel.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and electrical maintenance teams to resolve instrumentation and control system issues.
- Stay updated with modern instrumentation technologies, automation systems, and industry best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance, equipment reliability, and maintenance efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Higher Secondary Certificate or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience in power generation, utilities, energy, desalination, or heavy industrial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of pressure, temperature, level, and flow measurement instruments.
- Experience maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic control valves, CO₂ fire protection systems, gas detection systems, and industrial instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, technical manuals, and calibration procedures.
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and calibration equipment.
- Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, respond to emergency breakdowns, and perform duties in demanding industrial environments.
- Good English communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
