Job Overview

IKEA Jebel Ali, part of Al-Futtaim Retail, is looking for a Goods Flow Team Leader in Dubai, UAE to support efficient retail logistics, inventory availability, and customer order fulfillment.

The Goods Flow Team Leader works closely with the Goods Flow Manager to lead the goods flow team, coordinate daily logistics activities, maintain stock availability, and improve inbound and outbound processes while controlling operational costs.

The role is responsible for ensuring that goods flow operations comply with health, safety, security, environmental, and IKEA operational standards while supporting an excellent customer shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Goods Flow and Logistics Operations

Lead the daily goods flow operations at IKEA Jebel Ali to ensure efficient inbound and outbound logistics.
Work with the Goods Flow team to optimise available store capacity, equipment, space, and workforce.
Maintain the right balance between inbound and outbound goods volumes.
Support high product availability and accurate customer order fulfillment.
Ensure efficient stock handling, replenishment, merchandising, and inventory accuracy.
Monitor daily logistics activities and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Support effective goods flow processes while minimising operational costs.

Health, Safety and Compliance

Ensure the Goods Flow team follows the IKEA Code of Conduct, internal policies, and applicable UAE legislation.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, security, and environmental compliance.
Promote safe goods handling and warehouse practices across the team.
Support initiatives designed to reduce operational and environmental risks.
Ensure team members understand and follow relevant safety procedures.

Logistics Planning and Process Improvement

Provide goods flow insights and feedback for logistics action plans.
Support implementation of improvements across inbound and outbound goods flow processes.
Contribute to IKEA value chain activities and logistics service goals.
Work effectively with transport service providers and relevant internal stakeholders.
Share knowledge and best practices to improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of retail logistics operations.
Encourage continuous improvement and practical solutions within the goods flow team.

Team Leadership and Development

Lead, coach, and support Goods Flow team members in their daily responsibilities.
Identify, recruit, retain, and develop capable and diverse team members.
Support employee competence development, particularly in goods handling, safety, and logistics processes.
Build trust and maintain effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
Live and promote IKEA values within the team and wider store environment.

Customer Experience

Ensure efficient goods flow operations contribute to high product availability.
Support accurate stock levels, quality merchandising, and smooth customer order fulfillment.
Help create a convenient and positive IKEA customer shopping experience.
Maintain high standards of logistics quality while working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Skills Required

Knowledge of retail operations and inventory management.
Experience using Microsoft Office and business operating systems such as Navision.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume retail or logistics environment.
Strong understanding of continuous improvement and efficient goods handling processes.
