Job Role:
The Business Lead is responsible for identifying and creating opportunities to expand market reach, improve market position, and drive revenue growth in alignment with the company’s overall market access strategy. This role involves developing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, analyzing market dynamics, and implementing strategies to navigate regulatory and access challenges.
The Business Lead will identify, evaluate & and conclude organic, greenfield and acquisitive opportunities & and partnerships to expand “Market Access” capability & and solutions to newer markets, partners, categories and channels.
Job Accountabilities:
Market Access offers First, Middle & Last mile solutions in 6 Verticals – 1) FMCG 2) Healthcare 3) Tech & Durables 4) Industrials & Chemicals , 5) Agric & Perishables 6) Humanitarian supplies. We aim to deliver best-in-class solutions “From factory floor to customer door.” Through our JAFZA Hub and the wider network across 7 global regions in which we operate, and more pertinently in emerging markets of Africa, Central Asia, East Europe, South East Asia etc, we look to build substantial business partnerships.
Being a significant player in global trade, handling over 10% of global container movements through our ports and terminals, DP World is on the path to becoming a uniquely integrated solutions partner to our esteemed customers and clients. While improving efficiencies, optimizing costs and offering smarter, greener and faster supply chains in the “Producer to Consumer journey”, our conversations are expanding to offering bespoke End-to-End partnerships. Opportunity Exploration: Collaborate with the Global EVP Market Access to identify and capitalize on First, Middle, and Last-mile solutions within specific industries.
Solution Co-Creation: Partner with producers/brand owners to develop tailored solutions that enhance market reach and growth potential while leveraging DP World’s resources.
Commercial Strategy: Develop and refine commercial models, working closely with the commercial, financial, and solutions teams to deliver superior solutions.
Resource Assessment: Identify talent and resources necessary to execute industry-specific Market Access initiatives in various regions.
Best Practice Propagation: Establish and disseminate best practices among regions, creating a repository of excellence to optimize performance.
Customer Engagement: Provide clients with a comprehensive visibility and account management framework, ensuring a cohesive customer experience.
Performance Review: Evaluate financial, commercial, and operational performance within the industry vertical to surpass customer expectations.
Business Development: Actively pursue business development opportunities, contributing to organic growth, joint ventures, or acquisitions, aligning commercial and operational perspectives.
Product Relevance: Ensure the Market Access product remains attractive and relevant to our diverse customer base, adapting to changing market needs.
Thought Leadership: Participate in industry workshops and conferences, establishing thought leadership within the specific industry sector.
Team Leadership: Lead an engaged team, fostering collaboration and development aligned with challenging yet achievable goals and objectives.
DP World Ambassador: Uphold DP World’s principles, values, and culture, adhering to safety protocols and promoting ethical conduct at all times.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in business &/or relevant field
Emerging Market experience and proven skills to have built new business/markets
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to effectively contribute to multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy and meet demanding timelines
Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, and a passion for driving process improvement.
Experience presenting to Senior Management
Minimum 10 years of Business Development/Sales experience within the relevant industry
Global Industry Leads will be subject matter experts with core experience in the particular industry
Previous experience in commercial and P&L for a large company in the particular industry
