Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Fire Truck Driver Operator to support emergency response operations across company sites. The role involves operating fire appliances and emergency vehicles, conducting routine vehicle and equipment inspections, and assisting firefighting and rescue activities during incidents and training exercises. The ideal candidate will maintain operational readiness, comply with road safety and firefighting regulations, and work effectively within a disciplined emergency response team.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation & Emergency Driving
- Safely operate fire trucks, emergency response vehicles, and associated equipment during incidents, drills, and daily station duties
- Follow emergency driving procedures, defensive driving practices, and all road traffic regulations
- Operate pumps, ladders, hose systems, and other firefighting equipment during emergency operations
Vehicle Inspection & Equipment Maintenance
- Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of fire appliances and emergency equipment
- Report defects, damages, or maintenance requirements promptly and accurately
- Support routine cleaning, servicing, and readiness of vehicles and operational equipment
- Ensure proper storage, inventory control, and operational readiness of firefighting and rescue tools
Emergency Response Support
- Assist firefighting, rescue, evacuation, and emergency response activities under the direction of senior fire officers
- Support pump operations, hose deployment, lighting systems, and scene management tasks
- Assist with traffic control, casualty support, and maintaining safety at incident locations
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to company health, safety, and emergency response procedures at all times
- Use PPE correctly and comply with operational safety standards and inspection requirements
- Report vehicle incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and operational hazards promptly
- Maintain compliance with driver licensing, vehicle operation standards, and emergency response protocols
Training & Development
- Participate in regular firefighting drills, emergency exercises, and driver competency assessments
- Maintain required driving licences, certifications, and medical fitness standards for heavy emergency vehicles
- Contribute to team learning, operational improvements, and knowledge sharing activities
Administration & Documentation
- Complete vehicle logbooks, inspection checklists, and operational reports accurately and on time
- Maintain attendance, rostering, and availability records as required
- Provide operational and fleet-related information to supervisors when requested
Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Valid UAE driving licence with the appropriate category for fire appliances and heavy emergency vehicles
- Additional certifications in pump operation, fire appliance handling, or emergency response are advantageous
Experience
- Previous experience in firefighting, emergency services, rescue operations, or related environments preferred
- Strong record of safe driving and the ability to work effectively under pressure in emergency situations
- Familiarity with firefighting equipment, operational procedures, and emergency response protocols is desirable
