Role Overview

The Financial Controller plays a critical leadership role in ensuring effective financial governance across the UAE, GCC, and international business units. This position is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting aligned with group and divisional deadlines, while ensuring adherence to International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

As a key figure in driving financial integrity, the Financial Controller will define, implement, and oversee robust accounting policies and controls, supervise core financial functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage audit processes. Additionally, the role involves close coordination with cross-functional teams and oversight of financial systems supporting rental, leasing, lending, and core accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Governance & Control

  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures aligned with IAS/IFRS and AFG guidelines.

  • Ensure accurate recording of income and expenditures across all business units.

  • Oversee financial contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reports in line with group reporting calendars.

  • Monitor accruals, payables, and receivables to minimize variances and discrepancies.

  • Coordinate with group companies and AFSS to manage intercompany transactions and prevent revenue leakage.

  • Lead month-end closing, variance analyses, and budget comparisons.

  • Reconcile fixed assets, including fleet-related assets, across financial systems.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Drive cost control initiatives; identify and implement cost reduction strategies.

  • Prepare and deliver internal, divisional, head office, and statutory financial reports.

  • Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports, including Central Bank compliance.

  • Define and manage cost centers, ensuring appropriate allocations.

  • Prepare brand-wise revenue split reports and detailed financial analytics for management.

Audit & Compliance

  • Manage end-to-end UAE VAT compliance.

  • Plan, lead, and support interim and statutory audits.

  • Address and resolve internal audit findings in coordination with relevant departments.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and financial reporting standards.

Cash & Fund Management

  • Oversee and manage petty cash for rental and leasing operations.

  • Monitor and control credit card usage and fund disbursements.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to drive high performance.

  • Align team structure and roles with individual capabilities and business needs.

  • Implement training and development plans for continuous team growth.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, preferably within the automotive sector.

  • Strong command of IAS/IFRS and local regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven ability to manage audits, compliance, and financial operations.

  • Skilled in SAP FICO and other ERP systems.

  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strategic mindset with ability to analyze financial data and market conditions to support business growth.
