Position Summary:
As a member of the Divisional Controlling team, your role involves providing comprehensive support to the Financial Controller or Head of Divisional Financial Controlling. Your responsibilities will include:

Driving Divisional Accounting Policy requirements by establishing Division-Specific Accounting Policies.
Contributing inputs to Group Finance regarding the development or revision of Group Account Policies.
Facilitating, coordinating, and assisting Business Unit (BU) Finance teams in implementing new accounting policy requirements.
Offering policy guidance to BU teams through the Divisional Accounting Policy Committee and conducting BU-specific training or briefing sessions.
Providing accounting guidance and advisory services on compliance with International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Group policies.
Offering support and advisory services on complex accounting judgments, estimates, and accounting processes.
Leading the overall implementation and compliance of the Internal Controls Framework, and coordinating with Group and BU teams on any necessary changes.
Assessing risks, determining insurance requirements, and engaging with insurance partners to secure appropriate insurance coverage for the Division.
Collaborating with BUs to maintain and deploy collection infrastructure effectively.

Your Responsibilities:
Accounting Policy & Advisory:

Assist the Group and Divisional Policy and Advisory Head in crafting Financial Internal Controls, Controls Assessment, and Reporting/Standardization Framework.
Aid Group Finance in reviewing, conducting gap analyses, and preparing Group Accounting Policies.
Contribute significantly to drafting Divisional Accounting Policies and Process Notes, addressing process gaps, internal audit recommendations, and specific requests from BUs.
Provide detailed technical analysis and serve as a subject matter expert in Group discussions to support the implementation of new accounting policy requirements.
Deliver accounting training sessions to Finance & Operations teams as needed, covering topics such as International Accounting Standards (IAS), Accounting Policies, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Support and Guidance:

Offer support and guidance to BU FP&A and Controlling teams regarding complex accounting judgments.
Insurance Management:

Drive Business Unit insurance requirements, ensuring comprehensive coverage for all risks.
Liaise with BUs and insurance providers to guarantee the availability of insurance coverage, mitigating financial loss risks and meeting statutory/covenant requirements.
Collection Infrastructure:

Support collaboration with P&C and EIT teams in implementing Collection Infrastructure, integrating it with the Books of Accounts, and managing related touchpoints.

Your Duties:

Balance Sheet Substantiation and Process Reviews:

Collaborate with Shared Service Centres and BU Finance Teams to ensure timely execution of all processes required for Financial Period Close, ensuring the production of high-quality financials.
Take a lead role in driving the implementation and rollout of Balance Sheet Substantiation processes, conducting periodic reviews of misstatements, and managing the liaison and escalation of key risk areas for resolution.
Entity Level Scorecards and Issues Resolution:

Compile necessary details and reports for Entity Level Scorecards and Issues Resolution Drive, facilitating effective decision-making and resolution of financial discrepancies.
Shared Service Centres KPI/SLA Review:

Evaluate Shared Service Centre Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), initiating discussions with relevant stakeholders to identify improvement areas. Develop detailed implementation plans and timelines for enhancements.
Legal Entity Establishment and Closure:

Coordinate with Business Units to ensure alignment on the establishment or closure of any legal entities. Ensure that Books of Accounts structures are defined for new entities and that all accounting and legal processes are completed for entity closure.

Your Responsibilities:

External Audit Oversight:

Assist in monitoring the overall progress of external audits, ensuring alignment with the Audit Program and adherence to set timelines.
Auditor Coordination:

Work closely with Shared Services and BU teams to ensure timely and accurate provision of auditor requirements.
Financial Statement Preparation:

Support the Financial Manager (FM) or Senior FM in preparing standalone and consolidated financial statements for relevant entities.
Liaison with Auditors:

Communicate with auditors and BU teams regarding additional certification requirements, such as Revenue Certificates and ICV Certificates, ensuring timely fulfillment.
Group Finance Reporting:

Provide assistance to the FM or Senior FM in meeting specific reporting requirements from Group Finance for financial statement preparation, consolidation, and other analyses.

Essential Skills:
Proficient understanding and practical application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Demonstrated experience in drafting and reviewing accounting policies.
Strong familiarity with Financial Statements and their interpretation.
Sound comprehension of Internal Controls and Processes.
Accreditation as a Qualified Professional Accountant (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA).

Qualifications for Success:

Professional accounting accreditation.
Minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in a supervisory capacity within a sizable organization.
Proficiency in analytics, process management, communication, and presentation skills, with exposure to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP, along with SAP BW/BPC.
Ability to effectively plan and prioritize tasks, coupled with persuasive abilities, a continuous improvement mindset (Kaizen), self-motivation, and strong teamwork skills.
