Al-Futtaim Automotive – FAMCO is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician in Dubai, UAE to provide maintenance, repair, inspection, and troubleshooting support for Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) at customer sites.
The Field Service Technician will play an important role in maintaining heavy equipment reliability, reducing machine downtime, and delivering high-quality technical service to customers. The position requires strong hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance, hydraulics, electrical systems, engines, transmissions, and machinery diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Repair
- Carry out maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of Volvo construction equipment at customer locations.
- Remove, install, dismantle, and assemble major components, including engines, transmissions, axles, and related machinery.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, engine, and transmission system issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs according to manufacturer specifications and approved procedures.
- Use appropriate tools, equipment, service procedures, and technical documentation to complete repair work safely and efficiently.
Equipment Inspection and Diagnostics
- Conduct detailed inspections of construction equipment and identify potential mechanical or technical issues.
- Diagnose equipment faults and recommend appropriate repair or maintenance solutions.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
- Identify additional maintenance requirements and communicate service recommendations to supervisors and customers.
- Help minimise equipment downtime through timely troubleshooting and effective repairs.
Field Service and Customer Support
- Provide professional field service support to customers across Dubai and the UAE.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment condition, technical findings, repair progress, and service recommendations.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Complete service reports, job cards, timesheets, inspection records, and other required documentation accurately.
- Support team members by sharing technical knowledge and providing guidance when required.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow manufacturer standards, company procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain company tools, service vehicles, equipment, and other assigned assets responsibly.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are completed safely and professionally.
- Maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and technical workmanship.
- Support a safe and accident-free working environment.

- Experience working with Volvo Construction Equipment is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of engines, transmissions, axles, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Previous experience conducting equipment inspections and identifying maintenance requirements.
- A valid UAE driving licence is required.
- Ability to work effectively under operational demands and meet agreed service timelines.
