Field Operator Job Vacancy in Saudi Arabia
A leading power plant operations team is seeking an experienced Field Operator to support daily operations at a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant in Saudi Arabia (KSA). This is an excellent career opportunity for candidates with a technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline and 5–7 years of relevant power plant experience.
The successful candidate will assist the Operations Department in monitoring plant equipment, maintaining safe and reliable operations, coordinating maintenance activities, and supporting operational procedures. The role requires a strong understanding of power plant operations, equipment maintenance, workplace safety, and operational systems.
Candidates with previous experience in CCGT power plants and knowledge of SAP, PI System, and Microsoft Office are encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities
1. Power Plant Operations
Assist the Operations Team in monitoring daily plant operations and the performance of equipment and machinery.
Support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant systems and associated equipment.
Monitor field activities to ensure plant equipment remains available and operates according to established standards.
Assist in identifying operational issues and report equipment abnormalities to the relevant team members.
Support technical and operational activities within the plant as required.
2. Field Operations and Maintenance Coordination
Coordinate with relevant departments to support planned and corrective maintenance activities.
Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of field activities.
Assist in preparing work areas and coordinating operational requirements before maintenance activities begin.
Follow established safety procedures and operational guidelines during maintenance work.
Support the Operations Team in maintaining equipment reliability and plant availability.
3. Standard Operating Procedures and Technical Support
Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational work instructions.
Follow approved operating procedures to maintain consistent and safe plant operations.
Provide technical guidance to newly appointed employees and team members within the assigned operational area.
Share operational knowledge and support team members in understanding plant equipment and operating practices.
Participate in other technical activities related to plant operations whenever required.
4. Workplace Safety and Team Development
Promote a safe and responsible working culture within the Operations Department.
Follow organisational health, safety, and environmental management requirements.
Support team development initiatives and encourage effective teamwork.
Coordinate with colleagues to ensure operational tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Maintain professional working relationships with internal departments and external service providers.
5. Communication and Coordination
The Field Operator will work closely with the following internal stakeholders:
Shift In-Charge
Control Room Operators
Operations trainees
Other employees within the Operations Department
Employees from other departments, when required
External coordination may include:
Equipment and service vendors
Technical consultants
Contractors and other relevant external parties
Education and Qualifications
Three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
Technical knowledge of power plant operations and associated equipment.
Understanding of industrial operational procedures and workplace safety requirements.
Required Experience
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in power plant operations.
Previous experience working in a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant is required.
Practical exposure to the operation and maintenance of main plant equipment and associated systems.
Experience coordinating operational activities and maintenance work in an industrial or power generation environment.
