We are looking for a skilled Field Operator – Energy to join our operations team in Abu Dhabi (Al Taweelah), UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and operating power generation equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), and utility systems. This role is essential for ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted plant operations while supporting efficient power generation and equipment performance.

Plant Operations
- Operate and monitor gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, rectifiers, and supporting utility systems in accordance with operating procedures.
- Ensure all assigned equipment operates safely, efficiently, and within approved performance parameters.
- Follow instructions from the Shift Supervisor and Main Control Room Operator to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.
- Conduct routine field inspections to verify equipment condition and operational performance.
- Record operating parameters and report abnormal readings, equipment faults, or performance issues promptly.
- Prepare standby equipment for immediate operation during maintenance activities or emergency situations.
- Assist with equipment start-up, shutdown, testing, and recommissioning following planned maintenance.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor plant systems to identify potential operational issues before they impact production.
- Respond quickly to alarms, equipment abnormalities, and operational incidents.
- Support troubleshooting activities alongside maintenance and engineering teams to restore normal operations.
- Participate in preventive operational checks to improve plant reliability and efficiency.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures while performing operational duties.
- Identify workplace hazards and report unsafe conditions using company safety reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response protocols.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout assigned operational areas.
- Remain fully familiar with emergency shutdown procedures and plant safety requirements.
Teamwork & Training
- Assist in on-the-job training and knowledge sharing with team members.
- Continuously improve technical knowledge and operational competency.
- Work collaboratively with control room operators, maintenance technicians, engineers, and other plant personnel.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing plant safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in power generation, energy, utilities, or industrial plant operations.
- Previous experience in thermal power plants, combined cycle power plants, or desalination facilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, utility systems, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and understand single-line diagrams and plant operating procedures.
- Basic IT skills and the ability to prepare shift reports and operational records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in rotating shifts and multicultural environments.
- Strong teamwork, organizational, and safety awareness skills.
