Job Description :
Applications are invited for the position of Female Heavy Duty Driver *’ Transport Operations

Job Key Accountabilities:

Position and operate the high loader equipment next to the aircraft according to the SOPs/ procedures to ensure safe and smooth operations for load and offload activity.

Conduct independent overall vehicle Pre-trip inspection prior to commencement of trips and report any mechanical breakdowns for corrective action to avoid disruption during load/offload activity on the airside.

Ensure pre-cooling the vehicle chiller and secure the cargo belts to avoid damages to the catering and equipment.

Observe safe driving practices in order to comply with the U.A.E. road traffic rules and DIA ramp safety regulations at all times.

Ensure punctual and efficient delivery of catering items to the designated location at the airport on time and ensure that all deliveries are supplied as per the SOPs/procedures and airline specifications.

Liaise and assist the Airside Loading team (ALT) with the aircraft load/offload catering to ensure all flight requirements are met before departure.

Comply with all Health & Safety policies and vehicle regulations laid down by the company as well as report any damage/ defect caused or observed while using light and heavy vehicles to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and colleagues.

Job Context:
Emirates Flight Catering based in Dubai International Airport is one of the busiest in-flight catering kitchens in Middle East with over 100 airline customers and 24×7 operations.

The Airside Operations department is in charge of Transport, Loading teams and the Operation Control Centre trained to handle the work requirements on the airside. The key challenge of the jobholder is to ensure the punctual and efficient delivery of items / catering and assist the Airside Loading team (ALT) with the aircraft load/offload catering to ensure all flight provisioning requirements are met before departure by adhering to Food Safety, HSE guidelines and DIA ramp safety regulations.

Education Qualification:
Should have a valid U.A.E. driving license (# 4 Heavy truck) and should have passed the company-driving test.
High School Certificate Qualification or equivalent qualification (must have).

Work Experience:
Minimum experience of 5 years in a Logistics/Transport environment as a Truck Driver or a similar role.

Skills:
Should have the ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded vehicle.
Must be able to obtain a Restricted Area Security Pass.
Should be physically fit in order to be able to perform Manual Handling Tasks. (bend, kneel, stoop and use of ladder).
Able to work alone or in a team environment
Willing to work in shifts
Should be well versed in written and spoken English with accuracy and attention to detail.
Should have knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels
Knowledgeable in First Aid, Safety/ basic firefighting (preferred).
Driving license holder number 4 (preferred)
