Role Purpose
The Facility Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day facility operations and ensuring that building services, maintenance activities, and workplace facilities are managed efficiently. The role involves coordinating maintenance teams, monitoring facility conditions, addressing operational issues, and ensuring that all activities are completed safely and according to company standards.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Supervise daily facility management and maintenance activities to ensure smooth building operations.
- Coordinate with technicians, maintenance staff, contractors, and service providers for routine and corrective maintenance.
- Monitor the condition and performance of building facilities, equipment, and essential services.
- Plan and follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Inspect facilities regularly and identify maintenance, safety, or operational issues.
- Ensure reported maintenance requests and service issues are addressed within the required timeframe.
- Allocate daily tasks to maintenance and facility teams and monitor work progress.
- Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when specialist services are required.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, service reports, and completed work orders.
- Ensure facility operations comply with company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable standards.
- Monitor the proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building services where applicable.
- Report major equipment failures, safety concerns, and facility-related issues to management.
- Assist with planning maintenance schedules and coordinating shutdown or repair activities when required.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and maintenance materials are available for facility-related work.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized working environment.
- Support emergency response and facility-related activities when required.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve facility and maintenance requirements efficiently.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- ITI Diploma or a relevant technical qualification is required.
- Previous experience in facility management, building maintenance, property maintenance, or technical services is preferred.
- Good understanding of general facility maintenance and building services.
- Knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building maintenance systems is an advantage.
- Ability to supervise technicians and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to monitor contractors and ensure work is completed according to requirements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain maintenance records and prepare basic reports.
