Emirates First Officer Requirements
To qualify for Emirates First Officer Jobs in Dubai, candidates must have a minimum of 2,000 hours of total flying time.
More experienced pilots with 4,000 or more total flying hours may be eligible for an enhanced salary package, subject to meeting the additional requirements.
Boeing B777 First Officer Requirements
Applicants for the B777 First Officer position should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 2,000 hours total flying time on aircraft of 20 tonnes or more
- Flying experience excludes P3, rotary and single/multi-engine piston aircraft
- Minimum 1,000 hours on Boeing aircraft
- Currently flying a Boeing aircraft type
- Minimum 150 hours on the current type within the past 12 months
- Valid ICAO ATPL
- Matching Authority Class 1 Medical Certificate
- ICAO English proficiency at Level 4 or above
Airbus A350 and A380 First Officer Requirements
Candidates applying for Airbus A350 or A380 First Officer positions should have:
- Minimum 2,000 hours total flying time on aircraft of 50 tonnes or more
- Flying experience excludes P3, rotary and single/multi-engine piston aircraft
- Minimum 1,000 hours on Airbus Fly-By-Wire (FBW) aircraft
- Currently flying an Airbus FBW aircraft
- Minimum 150 hours on the current aircraft type within the past 12 months
- Valid ICAO ATPL
- Matching Authority Class 1 Medical Certificate
- ICAO English proficiency at Level 4 or above
Enhanced Salary Package for Experienced First Officers
Experienced pilots may qualify for an enhanced package if they meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 4,000 hours total flying time on aircraft of 20 tonnes or more
- Minimum 2,000 hours total flying time on aircraft of 50 tonnes or more
- ICAO English proficiency at Level 5 or above
The applicable salary package will depend on meeting Emirates’ enhanced package criteria.
Frozen ATPL Candidates
Pilots holding a Frozen ATPL, consisting of a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and completed ATPL theory examinations, may be considered for assessment subject to Emirates’ applicable FATPL terms and conditions.
Eligible Frozen ATPL applicants should provide the required CPL and evidence of successfully completed ATPL theory examinations as part of their application documentation.
Documents Required
Candidates should prepare the following documents before submitting their Emirates First Officer application:
- Updated CV
- Valid passport
- ATPL with the type rating for the aircraft currently flown
- Class 1 Medical Certificate with no limitations, except visual corrections
For pilots holding a Frozen ATPL, the application should also include:
- Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
- Evidence of successfully completed ATPL theory examinations
