A leading industrial organization is seeking a skilled Electrician Technician – Power to join its maintenance team in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment to ensure reliable plant operations with minimal downtime.

This position is suitable for candidates with experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment in manufacturing, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) motors, switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, UPS systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), circuit breakers, soft starters, and plant lighting systems.
  • Inspect electrical installations and identify equipment abnormalities or potential issues.
  • Replace faulty electrical components and test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
  • Assess maintenance tasks and select the appropriate tools, instruments, and materials required to complete assigned work.
  • Record maintenance activities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP) and request spare parts from the warehouse when needed.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with company safety procedures, environmental standards, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor recurring equipment failures and recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability.
  • Support the training and development of new electricians, trainees, and contractors by sharing technical knowledge and best maintenance practices.
  • Participate in workplace improvement initiatives, including safety programs, housekeeping (5S), and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist other departments with electrical troubleshooting and maintenance tasks when required.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors to support plant operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Completion of PEC Craft Training is preferred.
  • Additional electrical maintenance certifications will be considered an advantage.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience after obtaining a diploma.
  • Candidates who have successfully completed PEC Craft Training may be considered without prior work experience.
  • Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing plants, utilities, or power generation facilities is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Good understanding of industrial electrical systems and maintenance practices.
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, manuals, and technical instructions.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools, testing equipment, and electrical measuring instruments.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with maintenance documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work in an industrial environment and respond to maintenance requirements when necessary.
