We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of electrical systems, drawings, schematics, and technical solutions for building and construction projects in Saudi Arabia. The role is suitable for fresh graduates and candidates with 0–2 years of experience who have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and an interest in electrical design and engineering.
The successful candidate will work with engineers, architects, project teams, clients, and other stakeholders to develop reliable and efficient electrical designs while ensuring compliance with applicable standards, project specifications, safety requirements, and quality procedures.
Job Purpose
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for preparing electrical designs, layouts, schematics, calculations, and technical documentation for assigned projects. The role involves analyzing project requirements, supporting design development, resolving technical issues, and contributing to solutions that meet performance, cost, safety, and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design and Development
- Prepare detailed electrical system designs, drawings, schematics, and layouts based on project requirements.
- Assist with the development of electrical systems for building and construction projects.
- Perform electrical load calculations and basic system analysis.
- Support electrical system simulations, design reviews, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, technical requirements, and applicable engineering standards.
- Assist senior engineers in developing efficient and reliable electrical solutions.
- Review design requirements and identify potential technical issues at an early stage.
Engineering Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare and maintain electrical drawings, design documents, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Ensure engineering documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
- Verify electrical designs against applicable national and local electrical codes.
- Follow relevant safety standards, quality requirements, and engineering procedures.
- Maintain appropriate records of design changes, revisions, and approvals.
- Support the preparation of technical documentation required throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, civil, architectural, and other engineering disciplines.
- Work with architects and project stakeholders to integrate electrical systems with overall building requirements.
- Communicate with clients and project teams to understand technical requirements.
- Provide technical input and assistance during design discussions and project meetings.
- Coordinate design information to minimize conflicts between different building systems.
- Support effective communication between design and project execution teams.
Project Support
- Support engineering teams in reviewing electrical design modifications and proposed changes.
- Check design revisions to ensure they remain aligned with project requirements.
- Assist in monitoring design activities according to project schedules.
- Provide technical information required for project execution and coordination.
- Support the timely completion of assigned design deliverables.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
- Identify and assist in resolving electrical design issues.
- Investigate technical problems that may arise during project implementation.
- Support testing and verification of electrical systems where required.
- Recommend practical engineering solutions to technical challenges.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or project management.
- Apply engineering principles to improve reliability, efficiency, and system performance.
