Al-Futtaim Automotive is looking for an experienced Service Technician – Electric Vehicles to support BYD aftersales operations in Dubai, UAE. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing BYD electric vehicles while following manufacturer procedures, workshop quality requirements, and EV safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Service Technician will support daily workshop operations and help ensure vehicles are repaired safely and efficiently. Main responsibilities include:

• Inspect, service, diagnose, and repair BYD electric vehicles.
• Identify faults affecting electrical, electronic, mechanical, and EV-related systems.
• Assist with diagnosis of high-voltage components, battery systems, and other electric vehicle technologies.
• Perform repairs according to manufacturer specifications and approved workshop procedures.
• Follow appropriate safety precautions when working around electric and high-voltage vehicle systems.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and contribute to Electronic Vehicle Check (EVC) reporting.
• Complete assigned repairs accurately while helping reduce unnecessary vehicle downtime.
• Use diagnostic equipment, workshop tools, and technical manuals to identify and resolve vehicle problems.
• Follow workshop quality, safety, housekeeping, and 5S requirements.
• Use replacement parts, tools, and workshop resources responsibly.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other technicians when complex technical problems require additional support.
• Continue developing technical knowledge as electric vehicle systems and automotive technologies evolve.

Skills Required

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should preferably meet the following requirements:

• Diploma, ITI, NCVT, ITC, or a similar technical qualification.
• Around 2–3 years of relevant automotive experience.
• Previous experience as a Service Technician, Automotive Technician, Diagnostic Technician, General Repair Technician, or EV Technician.
• Hands-on experience with vehicle servicing, fault diagnosis, maintenance, and repair.
• Previous exposure to electric or hybrid vehicles is highly desirable.
• EV or High-Voltage certification would be an advantage.
• Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical repair documentation is beneficial.
• Understanding of electrical, electronic, and high-voltage automotive systems.
• A valid UAE driving licence would be an added advantage.

The successful candidate will work with the BYD Aftersales Retail Team within Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility. The team supports vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs, and customer aftersales requirements while contributing to the expansion of electric mobility in the UAE.
