Job Overview

Al-Futtaim Real Estate is seeking an experienced Director – Interior Design to lead the creative vision and execution of interior design projects across its diverse real estate portfolio in Dubai, UAE. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the complete interior design process for residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality developments while ensuring projects meet the company’s quality, functionality, sustainability, and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

As the Director – Interior Design, your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage the interior design department across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Develop creative design concepts that align with company objectives and brand identity.
• Oversee every stage of the design process, from planning and concept development to final project delivery.
• Establish and maintain interior design standards, technical guidelines, and design specifications.
• Review layouts, design drawings, material selections, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) to ensure quality and consistency.
• Research new interior design trends, materials, finishes, and technologies to improve project outcomes.
• Evaluate and recommend interior design consultants and external partners for project delivery.
• Prepare design scopes, review consultant proposals, and assist with contract and cost management.
• Coordinate the preparation and review of design documentation throughout all project phases.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor design implementation and ensure compliance with approved plans.
• Participate in project meetings to review design proposals, mock-ups, and project progress.
• Monitor departmental performance indicators and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor, lead, and develop interior designers, draftsmen, and other design professionals.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by senior management.

Required Skills

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

• Extensive experience in interior design leadership within the Middle East.
• Strong expertise in hospitality, residential, retail, and commercial interior design projects.
• Advanced knowledge of space planning, interior finishes, materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Experience managing projects throughout the complete design lifecycle.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in interior design.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and design best practices.
• Proven experience working with client-side organizations or leading interior design consultancies.
