A leading wooden manufacturing factory under alfanar is seeking an experienced Design Section Manager to lead and manage technical design and engineering activities related to wooden joinery products in Saudi Arabia.
The successful candidate will oversee design development, shop drawings, production engineering, material specifications, and technical coordination to ensure that joinery products meet project requirements, manufacturing standards, quality expectations, and delivery schedules.
This role involves managing the technical office, coordinating with architects, consultants, clients, project managers, and factory teams, and ensuring that designs are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for production and installation.
The ideal candidate should have 6–10 years of relevant experience, strong engineering design knowledge, and proven leadership and resource management skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Engineering Management
Lead and manage the technical office responsible for shop drawings, production drawings, and material specifications.
Review and approve technical submittals, engineering details, and construction drawings.
Ensure all technical documents comply with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.
Establish and maintain technical standards for wooden joinery manufacturing and installation.
Provide technical direction to the design and engineering team.
2. Design Development and Shop Drawings
Supervise the preparation and review of detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or other relevant design software.
Coordinate design development activities with architects, consultants, and clients.
Review drawings to ensure accuracy, functionality, and compliance with project requirements.
Identify and resolve design conflicts and technical issues before the production stage.
Ensure drawings and technical documents are completed according to project schedules.
3. Production Engineering and Manufacturing Support
Convert project requirements and approved designs into production-ready manufacturing packages.
Ensure production drawings support efficient manufacturing and assembly processes.
Optimize material usage and minimize manufacturing waste.
Coordinate with production teams to ensure design details are practical and manufacturable.
Support CNC programming and automated manufacturing activities.
Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and product quality through engineering solutions.
4. Project Technical Coordination
Coordinate with project managers to understand technical requirements, project schedules, and engineering deliverables.
Participate in project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Review project variation orders and evaluate their technical and manufacturing impact.
Ensure timely resolution of technical queries and design-related challenges.
Maintain effective communication between the technical office, project teams, and factory operations.
5. Factory and Installation Support
Provide technical guidance to factory production and site installation teams.
Resolve complex manufacturing problems and on-site installation challenges.
Support mock-up preparation, technical approvals, and site inspections.
Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure products are manufactured and installed according to approved drawings and specifications.
Assist teams in resolving technical discrepancies during project execution.
6. Engineering Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Introduce new joinery technologies, materials, fittings, and manufacturing techniques.
Improve engineering workflows, drawing management systems, and technical documentation processes.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material optimization, and productivity improvement.
Encourage the use of automated systems and modern engineering technologies.
Promote continuous improvement across design, manufacturing, and installation activities.

Qualifications and Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field.
