Al-Futtaim Automotive is seeking an experienced Data Science Manager – Operations in Dubai, UAE, to join its Digital Technology and Customer Experience team. This role focuses on leading the development and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and advanced data analytics solutions that improve operational efficiency, support business decisions, and deliver measurable business value.
The successful candidate will lead data science initiatives, develop predictive models, analyse business performance, and transform complex datasets into actionable insights. This position requires strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, Databricks, machine learning, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics, along with the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and guide data science teams.
Key Responsibilities
Data Science and AI Solutions
- Lead the delivery of AI and data science projects that improve operational performance and business efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain machine learning models to address business challenges and support data-driven decision-making.
- Build predictive models for price elasticity, residual value forecasting, predictive maintenance, customer churn, and anomaly detection.
- Apply statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and machine learning techniques to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into practical data science solutions with measurable outcomes.
- Evaluate model performance and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, reliability, and business impact.
Predictive Analytics and Performance Reporting
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting frameworks, and performance monitoring systems.
- Apply statistical process control methods to monitor operational performance and identify deviations.
- Use data visualisation tools to communicate trends, model results, and business insights.
- Conduct time series analysis, forecasting, regression, classification, and clustering to support operational and commercial decisions.
- Deliver actionable recommendations based on data analysis and predictive modelling.
Team Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Lead, guide, and support data scientists in delivering high-quality analytics and machine learning projects.
- Coordinate with operations, finance, business, and technology teams to identify opportunities for data-driven improvement.
- Work with stakeholders to define project objectives, success metrics, priorities, and delivery timelines.
- Present complex analytical findings in a clear and practical format for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Manage multiple projects and ensure analytics solutions are delivered on schedule and aligned with business requirements.
Data Engineering and Model Deployment
- Use Python, SQL, Databricks, and relevant machine learning frameworks to develop and implement analytical solutions.
- Apply MLOps practices, Git version control, and big data technologies to support reliable model development and deployment.
- Collaborate on data pipelines, model monitoring, and optimisation activities.
- Use statistical and machine learning libraries to build scalable, maintainable, and effective analytics solutions.
Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications and Experience

- Approximately 4–5 years of relevant experience in data science, customer analytics, finance analytics, or operations analytics.
- Proven experience delivering machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions in a business environment.
- Experience translating analytical outputs into practical business recommendations.
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and collaborate across business and technology teams.
- Experience supporting or leading data science projects and delivering measurable operational improvements.
