Key Responsibilities
1. Chiller Maintenance and Repair
- Perform routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance of commercial and industrial chiller systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults affecting chiller performance.
- Carry out necessary repairs to restore equipment operation and minimize downtime.
- Inspect chiller components and identify signs of wear, damage, or abnormal operation.
- Respond to maintenance requests and complete assigned repair work within the required timeframe.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, repairs, and equipment conditions.
2. HVAC System Performance Monitoring
- Monitor chiller operating conditions to ensure reliable cooling performance.
- Check operating temperatures, pressures, and other relevant system parameters.
- Identify performance issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Support preventive maintenance schedules to reduce unexpected breakdowns.
- Help improve system efficiency and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
- Report recurring faults and major technical issues to the maintenance supervisor.
3. Troubleshooting and Technical Support
- Investigate chiller malfunctions and identify the root causes of equipment problems.
- Inspect mechanical and electrical components to determine repair requirements.
- Assist with testing and commissioning activities when required.
- Coordinate with HVAC technicians and facilities management teams to resolve complex faults.
- Use appropriate tools and technical procedures to complete maintenance activities.
- Escalate major equipment defects and safety concerns to the relevant supervisor.
4. Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures during maintenance and repair work.
- Handle refrigerants and related equipment in accordance with applicable safety and environmental requirements.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and approved tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Follow established procedures when working with electrical systems, pressurized components, and refrigerants.
- Support compliance with equipment operating standards and maintenance requirements.
Job Requirements
Experience and Technical Knowledge
- Good knowledge of chiller systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- At least 2 years of GCC experience, or 5 years of experience in facilities management or maintenance, as stated in the vacancy.
- Practical understanding of commercial HVAC and cooling systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common chiller operating faults.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and equipment inspections.
Educational Qualification
- ITI certification in a relevant technical trade is preferred.
- Relevant technical training in HVAC, refrigeration, or chiller maintenance is advantageous.
