Job Overview
DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support business growth and expand the company’s presence across Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region. This position is suited to an engineering professional with experience in consulting, business development, client relationship management, and the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector.
The Business Development Manager will identify and develop new opportunities across building design, infrastructure design, and energy projects, including power and distribution. The role involves developing relationships with clients, developers, government organizations, contractors, project management companies, and strategic partners.
The successful candidate will combine engineering knowledge, commercial understanding, and strong client engagement skills to connect DAR Engineering’s multidisciplinary capabilities with customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
- Target opportunities in building design, infrastructure, energy, power, and distribution projects.
- Develop and implement business development plans aligned with company growth objectives.
- Research market trends, upcoming projects, tenders, and major development programs.
- Monitor competitor activity and identify potential areas for business expansion.
- Develop and maintain a strong business development pipeline and regularly report progress to senior management.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with developers, government entities, contractors, PMO/PMC organizations, and other industry stakeholders.
- Engage with prospective clients to understand project requirements, challenges, budgets, and business objectives.
- Lead client engagement from initial contact and capability presentations through proposal submission and commercial discussions.
- Represent DAR Engineering professionally during client meetings, conferences, industry events, and networking activities.
- Gather client feedback and market intelligence to support business strategy and service development.
Project Pursuit & Proposal Management
- Identify suitable projects and coordinate internal teams during the business development and pursuit process.
- Work closely with engineering, design, technical, marketing, and bid teams to prepare client-focused proposals.
- Ensure proposals clearly communicate project understanding, technical capabilities, methodology, and value proposition.
- Support presentations, negotiations, and commercial discussions with prospective clients.
- Coordinate with senior management, finance, and legal teams during contract negotiations.
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, proposals, client interactions, and business development activities using CRM and reporting systems.
Engineering & Consulting Business Development
- Use technical engineering knowledge to communicate effectively with clients and understand consulting requirements.
- Support business development across different project stages, including planning, concept design, schematic design, detailed design, and construction supervision.
- Identify opportunities associated with major infrastructure, building, energy, and development projects.
- Build relationships with organizations involved in large-scale and strategic development projects across Saudi Arabia.
- Position DAR Engineering’s multidisciplinary consulting and design capabilities according to client requirements.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, such as Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- An MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of engineering consultancy and the AEC industry is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience.
- Significant experience in business development, strategic growth, client relationship management, or related commercial roles.
- Previous experience with engineering consultancies, multidisciplinary design firms, architecture firms, or PMC organizations.
- Strong understanding of building and infrastructure design processes and the overall AEC project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience developing new business opportunities and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Experience in the Saudi Arabian market is highly preferred.
- An established professional network involving developers, government organizations, consultants, contractors, and other industry stakeholders will be an advantage.
- Experience with major Saudi development programs and large-scale projects is desirable.

Language Requirements
- Fluent English is required.
- Arabic language proficiency is highly preferred, particularly for client and stakeholder engagement in Saudi Arabia.
