Job Overview

The Assistant Manager – Learning & Development (L&D) will support the planning, development, and implementation of employee training and career development programs across GCC corporate functions. The role focuses on identifying learning needs, improving employee capabilities, supporting leadership development, and ensuring training initiatives contribute to organizational and business objectives.

The position will work closely with the L&D team, HR, corporate functions, brand teams, and business stakeholders to deliver effective and engaging learning solutions for a diverse, multicultural workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement training and learning programs across GCC corporate functions in line with company policies and established L&D best practices.
  • Develop new Learning & Development initiatives based on employee development requirements and changing business needs.
  • Prepare, coordinate, communicate, and manage the annual training calendar for different brands and corporate functions.
  • Monitor training activities and support the L&D team in implementing effective training methodologies and development solutions.
  • Develop practical and cost-effective training programs that address identified employee learning needs.
  • Build knowledge of new brands, products, and business requirements and share relevant information with the training team.
  • Review employee training feedback and use insights to improve course content, delivery methods, and overall learning effectiveness.
  • Recommend updated learning materials, resources, and innovative approaches to enhance training delivery.
  • Ensure consistent application of effective training and employee development practices across the L&D team.
  • Track training delivery, participation, follow-up activities, and outcomes while maintaining accurate training records.
  • Design and coordinate training courses and development programs for employees across different corporate functions and regions.
  • Implement structured training processes, learning modules, and development initiatives to support employee performance.
  • Support leadership development programs designed to strengthen communication, people management, and professional skills.
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions at corporate offices across different regions when required.
  • Assess employee skills through observations, mock sessions, practical exercises, and other appropriate evaluation methods.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommend development actions based on training and performance assessments.
  • Motivate, supervise, and guide members of the training team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Support manpower planning for the training department and assist with effective allocation of L&D resources.
  • Collaborate with HR, business leaders, corporate teams, and other stakeholders to ensure training programs are aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and contribute to continuous improvement of the company’s learning and development strategy.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in Learning & Development, corporate training, Human Resources, retail operations, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating or facilitating employee training programs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple training programs, schedules, and stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of employee learning, career development, and training needs analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with multicultural teams across different GCC locations.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to adapt training content and delivery methods according to employee and business requirements.
  • A proactive approach to supporting employee development and continuous learning.
