Job Overview

EXA Ceramics is looking for an Assistant Designer to support artwork development and collection design activities in Saudi Arabia. The role involves creating and preparing artwork for new collections, developing color combinations and design elements, supporting digital design, and ensuring artwork is aligned with production and manufacturing requirements.

The Assistant Designer will work closely with senior designers, the Design Manager, production, development, PDR, laboratory, and other cross-functional teams. The position also requires trend research, artwork customization, progress reporting, and timely delivery of high-quality designs.

Key Responsibilities

Artwork Creation and Design Support

• Assist senior designers in developing and preparing artwork for new collections.
• Ensure artwork reflects the approved project vision, design objectives, and brand requirements.
• Support the preparation of design elements for review, approval, and production.

Collection Development

• Take responsibility for assigned collections and contribute creative design concepts.
• Develop suitable color combinations, patterns, textures, and other visual elements.
• Ensure designs are aligned with brand identity, customer preferences, and current market trends.

Digital Design and Production Alignment

• Develop and maintain digital artwork using appropriate design tools and processes.
• Ensure colors, textures, patterns, and artwork specifications are suitable for manufacturing.
• Coordinate with production and development teams to ensure designs can be accurately produced.

Artwork Modification and Customization

• Modify and customize artwork based on feedback from the PDR team, laboratory, customers, and Design Manager.
• Make required design adjustments while maintaining quality and design consistency.
• Incorporate technical and production feedback into final artwork.

Task and Deadline Management

• Complete assigned design activities according to targets and priorities established by the Design Manager.
• Manage multiple design tasks while meeting production, commercial, and project deadlines.
• Ensure assigned artwork is completed within agreed timelines.

Reporting and Performance Tracking

• Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the direct manager.
• Provide updates on completed activities, pending tasks, challenges, and project progress.
• Highlight deviations and operational issues that may affect delivery schedules.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with production, product development, laboratory, PDR, and other relevant departments.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure designs meet technical and manufacturing specifications.
• Support smooth transition of approved designs into production.

Design Trends and Market Research

• Research current design trends, customer preferences, and market developments.
• Analyze emerging patterns, colors, textures, and creative concepts.
• Support the development of innovative and commercially relevant collections.

Quality Control and Timely Delivery

• Review artwork before submission for approval and production.
• Ensure designs meet defined quality, technical, and project requirements.
• Deliver completed artwork within established deadlines.

Academic Qualification

• Diploma or Degree in Design or a related field.

Work Experience

• 2 to 4 years of relevant design experience.
• Experience in artwork development, collection design, digital design, or a related manufacturing/design environment is beneficial.
