Al-Futtaim Contracting is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a major construction project in Dubai. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with the Project Director and lead multidisciplinary teams across construction, design, procurement, and other project functions. Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a high-value construction project in accordance with approved objectives, specifications, and client requirements.
- Develop and implement project delivery strategies based on project scope, programme, resources, and commercial objectives.
- Ensure construction activities progress according to the approved schedule and agreed project milestones.
- Monitor project scope, quality, resources, and deliverables throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Establish effective project controls for managing schedules, resources, productivity, and project performance.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, and other multidisciplinary teams to maintain project progress.
- Ensure project activities remain aligned with organizational business and financial objectives.
- Identify potential project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes and operational performance.
Cost & Financial Management
- Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial controls.
- Monitor project expenditure and identify potential cost overruns at an early stage.
- Work with commercial and procurement teams to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Support negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve commercially beneficial agreements.
- Monitor project profitability and financial performance against approved targets.
- Ensure effective contract administration and protection of the company’s commercial interests.
- Manage risks associated with variations, delays, claims, and additional project costs.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary project team to achieve project objectives.
- Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations, and communication channels within the project team.
- Motivate and develop project personnel while promoting accountability and high performance.
- Encourage collaboration, proactive communication, and effective problem-solving.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, commercial, and support functions.
- Promote compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Foster a professional and collaborative project working environment.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact for the client’s project representatives.
- Maintain professional and consistent communication with clients and project stakeholders.
- Understand client expectations and ensure project delivery remains aligned with agreed requirements.
- Coordinate communication between clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Address project issues promptly and facilitate timely resolution of stakeholder concerns.
- Provide clear project updates covering progress, risks, financial performance, and key milestones.
- Maintain strong professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk, Quality & Compliance
- Establish and maintain effective project risk management processes.
- Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks affecting cost, schedule, quality, safety, or project profitability.
- Ensure project activities comply with approved quality standards and construction requirements.
- Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Monitor project performance and take corrective action when deviations occur.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction project management and project delivery processes.
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Strong budget management and cost-control capabilities.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
- Strong risk management and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of quality assurance and construction safety standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage complex, high-value construction projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is preferred.
Experience Required
- 12–15 years of relevant professional experience in construction project management.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale construction projects from planning through completion.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects within approved budgets and timelines.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams involving construction, design, procurement, and commercial functions.
- Experience with high-rise, residential, commercial, or other complex construction projects is advantageous.
