Job Overview
FAMCO is seeking a Branch Accountant to support day-to-day finance and accounting operations within its automotive business in Dubai. This role is suitable for a UAE National with accounting or finance experience who can manage financial transactions, reconciliations, cash activities, vehicle deal documentation, and month-end closing tasks.
The Branch Accountant will work closely with branch and finance teams to ensure transactions are accurately recorded, properly documented, reconciled, and processed according to company policies and internal controls. The position requires strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple finance activities in a high-volume automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Accounting and Finance Operations
- Review and support the accurate posting of daily branch transactions.
- Process and monitor invoices, receipts, customer collections, and supplier payments.
- Ensure financial transactions are properly documented and recorded within required timelines.
- Coordinate with branch and finance teams to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company procedures.
Vehicle Deal and Pricing Support
- Review the financial aspects of vehicle-related transactions and deal documentation.
- Check vehicle pricing, discounts, and applicable approvals before processing transactions.
- Ensure discount requests comply with company policies and delegated approval limits.
- Identify and escalate discrepancies or documentation issues related to vehicle deals.
- Support finance teams with accurate and timely processing of automotive transactions.
Cash, Banking and Reconciliation
- Monitor daily cash collections, bank deposits, and petty cash transactions.
- Reconcile cash and banking balances and investigate differences when identified.
- Prepare customer account and supplier balance reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate petty cash records and supporting documentation.
- Follow up on outstanding reconciliation items and ensure timely resolution.
Month-End Accounting
- Support month-end closing activities in line with established finance deadlines.
- Assist with accruals, provisions, journals, and other closing entries.
- Ensure required supporting documents are complete and available for financial review.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to resolve outstanding transactions before month-end closure.
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness throughout the financial closing process.
Expenses and Supplier Accounts
- Monitor branch operating expenses and related purchase orders.
- Review supplier invoices for accuracy, coding, and appropriate approvals.
- Identify potential overspending, incorrect coding, or unusual transactions.
- Follow up with relevant departments regarding outstanding invoices and financial issues.
- Ensure expenses are recorded in the appropriate accounts and reporting periods.
Compliance and Internal Controls
- Follow company accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.
- Ensure transactions comply with Delegation of Authority (DOA) requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit and financial review purposes.
- Support internal and external audit requirements when required.
- Escalate financial discrepancies, control issues, and unusual transactions promptly.

Educational Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, financial controls, and transaction processing.
Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting, branch finance, or high-volume transactional finance.
- Experience in an automotive dealership or similar high-volume business environment is an advantage.
- Previous exposure to dealership finance operations is preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is an advantage.
