We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support maintenance operations at a power and water facility in Saudi Arabia. The role involves carrying out preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance, as well as supporting planned outages, equipment overhauls, troubleshooting, and repair activities.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance
- Perform preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance on plant mechanical equipment.
- Support annual shutdowns, planned outages, equipment overhauls, and major maintenance activities.
- Inspect, service, repair, adjust, and install static and rotating mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical equipment faults and complete required repairs within the assigned area.
- Carry out maintenance activities according to approved procedures, work instructions, and schedules.
- Record equipment conditions, maintenance findings, and relevant service history.
Equipment and Plant Support
- Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned equipment and related operating systems.
- Prepare equipment and work areas before maintenance activities begin.
- Coordinate with supervisors and plant operators to ensure proper equipment isolation before starting maintenance work.
- Identify required spare parts, tools, and consumables and communicate requirements to the Mechanical Supervisor.
- Support monitoring of spare-parts availability to help prevent maintenance delays.
Safety and Work Practices
- Follow all company and site safety rules, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Apply safe working practices when operating tools, lifting equipment, and other maintenance devices.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined-space, work-at-height, fall-protection, PPE, and other permit-to-work requirements.
- Work safely in challenging environments, including areas involving chemicals, elevated platforms, confined spaces, and industrial equipment.
- Maintain awareness of firefighting equipment, first-aid procedures, and emergency requirements.
- Ensure proper handling, identification, and disposal of waste generated during maintenance activities.
- Understand the potential health and environmental effects of chemicals used at the facility.
Housekeeping and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain 5S housekeeping standards within the assigned maintenance area.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Support quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management initiatives.
- Perform additional mechanical maintenance duties assigned by the supervisor or engineer.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates should have one of the following:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Alternatively, at least 4 years of experience as a skilled mechanical worker in NOMAC plants.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a Mechanical Technician position.
- Candidates with at least 4 years of experience as skilled mechanical personnel in NOMAC plants may also be considered.
- Experience in power generation, combined-cycle, cogeneration, or water desalination plants is highly desirable.
- Experience with RO, MSF, MED, renewable energy, solar, or wind facilities is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of mechanical maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of static and rotating equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems.
- Understanding of power and water plant operations.
- Knowledge of safe maintenance practices and industrial safety requirements.
- Familiarity with LOTO, fall protection, confined-space entry, lifting operations, welding, cutting, brazing, and PPE requirements.
- Basic knowledge of firefighting and first-aid procedures.
- Awareness of waste management and chemical safety.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a maintenance team.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Preferred Training and Certifications
Working knowledge or awareness of the following management systems is advantageous:
- ISO 9001 – Quality Management
- ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
- OHSAS 18001 – Occupational Health and Safety
Work Environment
The position may require working in a remote location and challenging industrial environments. Candidates should be comfortable working around heavy mechanical equipment, chemicals, confined spaces, elevated work areas, and other plant maintenance conditions while following all applicable safety procedures.
