Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chassis Assembly Manager to lead and oversee chassis assembly operations within an automotive manufacturing facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Manager – Chassis Assembly will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily production activities, achieving manufacturing targets, maintaining quality and safety standards, and improving assembly-line efficiency. The role requires strong knowledge of automotive chassis systems, assembly processes, lean manufacturing, production management, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will lead production teams, monitor operational KPIs, coordinate with supply chain and procurement functions, and implement process improvements to increase productivity while reducing waste and manufacturing costs.
Key Responsibilities
Chassis Assembly and Production Management
- Lead and manage daily chassis assembly operations to achieve production schedules, volume targets, and operational requirements.
- Plan and coordinate assembly activities to ensure efficient utilization of manpower, equipment, materials, and production capacity.
- Monitor production performance and ensure assembly operations meet established quality, productivity, and delivery targets.
- Ensure chassis assembly processes comply with engineering specifications, manufacturing standards, and approved procedures.
- Identify production constraints and take timely corrective action to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Quality and Safety
- Maintain high standards of product quality and manufacturing safety across chassis assembly operations.
- Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality procedures, company policies, and applicable industry standards.
- Monitor defect rates and investigate quality issues to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the assembly area.
- Ensure employees follow required health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing
- Optimize chassis assembly processes using lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
- Identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and sources of production waste.
- Lead Kaizen, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Analyze production data and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Improve cycle times, equipment utilization, line efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.
Production KPI and Performance Monitoring
- Monitor key manufacturing KPIs, including cycle time, production output, defect rates, equipment efficiency, downtime, and productivity.
- Analyze production trends and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Prepare regular production performance reports for senior management.
- Present manufacturing results, challenges, corrective actions, and improvement plans to management.
- Ensure production targets and performance objectives are consistently monitored.
Supply Chain and Material Coordination
- Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of chassis components and production materials.
- Monitor material requirements and communicate potential shortages or supply disruptions.
- Support effective inventory and material flow within the manufacturing facility.
- Work with relevant departments to resolve material, component, and production-related issues.
Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise and manage chassis assembly employees, production supervisors, and team leaders.
- Allocate manpower and responsibilities according to production requirements.
- Train and develop assembly-line employees to improve technical knowledge, productivity, quality awareness, and safety performance.
- Establish clear performance expectations and monitor team performance.
- Encourage teamwork, accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement within the production team.
Systems and Compliance
- Use ERP, MES, and manufacturing management systems to monitor production activities and performance.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and operational documentation.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and relevant automotive industry standards.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and quality reviews where required.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of automotive chassis systems and chassis assembly processes.
- Proven leadership and production team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of automotive production processes, manufacturing quality systems, and operational KPIs.
- Familiarity with ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Strong knowledge of production planning, process optimization, and resource management.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, quality, supply chain, procurement, maintenance, and senior management teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5–10+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, production, or assembly operations.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience managing production teams and automotive assembly lines.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MES systems and production reporting tools is advantageous.
