alfanar Electric is seeking a Clearance Specialist – Supply Chain to support customs clearance activities for import and export shipments in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing customs documentation, coordinating with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers and internal teams, and ensuring shipments are cleared efficiently and in compliance with applicable customs regulations and company procedures.
This role is suitable for professionals with experience in customs clearance, supply chain operations, import/export documentation, logistics, freight forwarding, customs regulations and international trade.
Key Responsibilities
Customs Clearance
- Process import and export documentation according to applicable customs regulations and company requirements.
- Submit customs clearance applications to relevant authorities and monitor approval status.
- Verify HS codes, tariff classifications and customs duty calculations.
- Ensure shipments are cleared accurately and within required timelines.
Shipment & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines and customs brokers to facilitate timely customs clearance and delivery.
- Work with internal supply chain and operational teams to provide shipment status updates.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipment schedules.
- Identify and resolve customs clearance issues that may affect delivery timelines.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable customs laws, trade regulations, tariffs and company policies.
- Stay informed about changes to customs requirements, tariffs and relevant trade agreements.
- Support customs audits, inspections and regulatory reviews when required.
Documentation & Records
- Prepare, verify and maintain important import and export documents, including:
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Certificates of origin
- Customs documents
- Import/export permits
- Shipment and clearance records
- Maintain organized records for compliance, reporting and future reference.
Issue Resolution
- Investigate and resolve customs clearance delays, documentation discrepancies and shipment-related issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, customs brokers and relevant authorities to resolve problems.
- Escalate complex clearance issues to the appropriate management team.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Track customs clearance information including clearance lead times, costs and shipment delays.
- Prepare periodic reports related to customs and shipment activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve clearance processes, reduce delays and control logistics costs.
- Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain processes.
