Job Overview

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and improving operational performance across production and supporting functions. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage people, resources, processes, and operational priorities effectively.

You will work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and other internal teams to maintain efficient operations and resolve issues that could affect productivity or customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

Manage daily operational activities and maintain effective coordination between production, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and supporting departments.

Track operational plans and ensure activities are completed according to business priorities, approved schedules, and performance targets.

Identify operational problems that could affect productivity, quality, safety, cost, or delivery and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.

Production and Delivery

Monitor production performance to help ensure required output and delivery schedules are achieved.

Optimize the utilization of employees, equipment, materials, production capacity, and other operational resources.

Work with relevant teams to address production delays, bottlenecks, equipment constraints, and resource shortages.

Regularly review operational KPIs covering productivity, downtime, efficiency, quality, safety, and costs.

Quality, Safety and Compliance

Ensure operational activities follow company procedures, applicable regulations, quality requirements, and workplace safety standards.

Encourage employees to maintain a safe, organized, and disciplined working environment.

Monitor quality concerns and non-conformities and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented by the responsible teams.

Support good housekeeping and the effective implementation of 5S workplace practices.

Cost and Resource Management

Control operational resources with a focus on improving efficiency while managing costs.

Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary expenditure, material waste, production downtime, and rework.

Participate in operational budgeting and monitor activities against approved financial targets.

Improve manpower allocation and resource planning based on operational requirements.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve workflows, productivity, reliability, service levels, and overall operational performance.

Lead or support continuous improvement programs designed to improve quality and reduce operating costs.

Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to develop more efficient operational processes.

Support the adoption of appropriate technologies, systems, automation tools, and industry best practices.

Team Leadership

Lead operations teams and establish clear responsibilities and performance expectations.

Monitor employee performance, recognize high-performing team members, and provide appropriate development opportunities.

Support employees who require performance improvement through proper guidance and follow-up.

Promote a professional workplace where employees are treated fairly and performance is assessed according to measurable results.

Business Planning and Reporting

Translate organizational objectives into practical operational and development plans.

Monitor progress against established targets and implement corrective measures when performance falls below expectations.

Prepare periodic operational reports covering progress, challenges, KPIs, costs, and improvement initiatives.

Communicate important operational developments and priorities to management and other stakeholders.

Organizational and Process Development

The Operations Manager will also contribute to improving the organization’s operational structure and business processes.

Responsibilities may include reviewing organizational requirements, maintaining appropriate job responsibilities, developing documented procedures, and identifying opportunities for process automation.

Candidates should be comfortable working with digital and IT-based business systems relevant to modern operational management.

Health, Safety and Environment

Maintaining a safe and legally compliant workplace is an important part of this position. The Operations Manager will help ensure operational activities follow applicable health, safety, environmental, and company requirements.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should hold a:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant field.

Experience Required

Candidates should have approximately 10–15 years or more of relevant professional experience, preferably involving operations management, manufacturing, production, engineering, or a related industrial environment.

Senior professionals with 15+ years of relevant experience may also be suitable depending on their background and responsibilities.
