Working within a community-based clinical environment, the successful candidate will provide specialist cardiology consultations, diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions, interpret cardiac investigations, and develop individualized treatment and prevention plans.

About the Role

As a Specialist Cardiologist, you will provide comprehensive outpatient cardiovascular care to patients with both routine and complex cardiac conditions.

The role includes diagnosis, treatment, ongoing monitoring, cardiovascular risk assessment, and preventative care. You will also work alongside other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care and support improved long-term patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist cardiology consultations in an outpatient clinic environment.
• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ clinical needs.
• Provide ongoing management for patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases.
• Conduct cardiovascular risk assessments and provide appropriate lifestyle guidance.
• Support preventative cardiology programs designed to reduce long-term cardiovascular risks.
• Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with applicable DHA requirements.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
• Participate in continuing medical education and relevant quality-improvement activities.
• Develop strong professional relationships with patients and support continuity of care.

Cardiovascular Conditions

The Specialist Cardiologist will assess and manage patients with conditions that may include:

• Hypertension
• Ischaemic heart disease
• Dyslipidaemia
• Heart failure
• Arrhythmias
• Valvular heart disease

The position also involves managing patients requiring ongoing monitoring and preventative cardiovascular care.

Cardiac Diagnostics

Candidates should have appropriate experience interpreting and managing cardiac investigations, including:

• Electrocardiograms (ECGs)
• Holter monitoring
• Echocardiography
• Other relevant cardiac diagnostic investigations

The ability to use diagnostic findings effectively when developing treatment and ongoing patient-management plans is important for this position.

Multidisciplinary & Referral Environment

The clinic operates within an established healthcare network. The cardiology service may receive referrals from several areas, including:

• Family Medicine
• Internal Medicine
• Endocrinology
• General Practice
• Pulmonology
• Other specialist medical services

Essential Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Hold a valid DHA Specialist Cardiologist license.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of post-specialist clinical experience.
• Previous clinical experience in the UAE.
• Strong experience in outpatient cardiology.
• Experience managing routine as well as complex cardiology cases.
• Ability to interpret ECGs, echocardiograms, Holter monitoring, and other cardiac investigations.
• Strong patient communication and relationship-management abilities.
• Ability to develop and maintain a long-term patient base.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

The following would be considered advantageous:

• Arabic-language skills.
• An existing patient following in Dubai.
