We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician – Maintenance to join our team in Dubai (Jebel Ali), UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and industrial equipment to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance
Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on electrical equipment and industrial systems.
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) motors, switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, UPS systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), circuit breakers, soft starters, and plant lighting systems.
Troubleshoot electrical faults efficiently to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production continuity.
Install, replace, test, and commission electrical components while ensuring equipment operates according to technical specifications.
Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, defects, and potential electrical failures before they affect plant operations.
Equipment Reliability
Analyze recurring equipment failures and recommend practical improvements to enhance reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and update work orders using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), including SAP or similar software.
Coordinate with maintenance planners and supervisors to ensure maintenance schedules are completed on time.
Safety & Compliance
Carry out all maintenance activities in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and company procedures.
Follow electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and safe work practices.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with workplace safety requirements.
Participate in safety programs, risk assessments, 5S initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
Team Collaboration
Provide technical guidance and support to junior electricians, trainees, and contractors during maintenance activities.
Assist engineering, operations, and other departments with electrical troubleshooting and equipment repairs.
Work effectively within a multicultural team to achieve maintenance and operational objectives.
Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors to support plant reliability and operational performance.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Completion of a recognized electrical craft training program is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance within heavy industry, manufacturing, utilities, or industrial facilities.
Practical experience with LV/MV motors, transformers, MCCs, switchboards, VFDs, UPS systems, and industrial electrical equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills for electrical systems.
Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
Experience using SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems.
Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
