A leading global industrial gas company is hiring a Helium Export Logistics Specialist to manage international export logistics and supply chain operations from Dubai, UAE. This role is ideal for logistics professionals with experience in ocean freight, international shipping, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and export documentation.

The successful candidate will oversee the transportation of helium containers across global trade routes, coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, suppliers, and international customers, and ensure safe, compliant, and timely deliveries.


Key Responsibilities

Export Logistics & Transportation

  • Coordinate international export shipments from source locations to global customer destinations.
  • Plan and monitor the movement of helium ISO containers through sea freight and inland transportation.
  • Optimize logistics schedules to improve container utilization and reduce transit times.
  • Ensure shipments are delivered according to customer requirements and agreed service levels.

Ocean Freight & Shipping Operations

  • Arrange vessel bookings with shipping lines and freight forwarding partners.
  • Track shipments throughout the transportation process and resolve delays proactively.
  • Monitor estimated departure and arrival schedules to maintain efficient supply chain operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve shipping reliability and logistics performance.

Customer Service & Order Management

  • Process customer export orders and maintain accurate logistics records.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with customers and internal planning teams.
  • Prepare shipping updates and provide timely communication regarding shipment status.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of transportation disruptions.

Customs & Export Documentation

  • Prepare and verify export documentation required for international shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export procedures, and international trade requirements.
  • Coordinate with customs authorities, freight agents, and logistics partners to support smooth cargo clearance.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and customs documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

Container & Inventory Management

  • Monitor helium container availability, utilization, and return schedules.
  • Coordinate the movement of empty containers back to source locations.
  • Track container performance and support initiatives to improve equipment turnaround.
  • Maintain accurate records of container movements and logistics assets.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure transportation activities comply with international dangerous goods regulations and company safety standards.
  • Monitor shipment conditions and respond promptly to operational issues affecting product safety.
  • Follow established environmental, health, and safety procedures throughout logistics operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to transport safety and operational efficiency.

Reporting & Supply Chain Performance

  • Prepare logistics performance reports and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze transportation costs, delivery performance, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, sales, and operations teams to support business objectives.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, International Trade, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in export logistics, freight forwarding, shipping operations, or international supply chain management.
  • Experience handling ocean freight and international export operations is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures and international trade regulations.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of international logistics and ocean freight operations.
  • Experience in export documentation and customs compliance.
  • Understanding of dangerous goods transportation regulations (IMDG).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and transportation management software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication and customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
